I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend! The weather was lovely and sunny here, if a little on the chilly side. Some parts of the UK have had snow today…crazy spring weather! In complete contrast, I wore peep toe wedge sandals to work one day last week. At least the drop in temperature gives me the opportunity to wear this vintage plaid jersey dress. I’m not packing my winter clothes away just yet!
I featured this vintage plaid dress along with three others in my first TikTok at the weekend. Up until recently I’d been determined not to get a TikTok account, thinking it would be too time consuming. Well I guess I got FOMO! The trade off was that I had to let Isobel get an account too and now she’s obsessed with it. Some of the videos she has made have left me in stitches though. Kids just learn how to use social media so quickly and easily. She actually shot my video and put it together for me, although I put the music on it.
Anyway, back to this dress. The funny thing is, when I bought it I thought it was a long jacket/coat. (I obviously misread the description!) I got a surprise when it arrived but I’m really pleased with it. The red collar and cuffs are fabulous details, and it fits just right. The fabric is jersey so it has some stretch to it. I matched my bag to the collar and cuffs and added a cute red flower ring too.
Buying vintage means adding unique pieces to my wardrobe without the guilt that goes with buying fast fashion. I’ll be featuring the other dresses here on the blog soon – I made Pete take photos of all of them…I wasn’t very popular that afternoon!
