I have yet another vintage gem to show you today! (I hope you’re not getting bored with my preloved finds!) This vintage purple floral print dress is made from a lovely lightweight fabric and feels so nice on. The eBay listing described it as handmade, and that does show in the stitching. It could use a bit of TLC on the zip but you can’t see any defects from the outside. It was on the cool side when we took these photos so I decided to layer a thin roll neck top underneath it. Adding a solid purple helps to make the red flowers in the dress stand out.
I was a little perplexed about what shoes to wear with this dress. Anything other than a retro style would have looked incongruous, so I decided on my white square toe ankle boots. White boots go with so many outfits; I used to worry that they made my feet look bigger but a square toe seems to prevent that. Chunky platform sandals would also look great with this vintage purple floral print dress for summer…time to paint those toenails!
This dainty purple bag is another preloved find – I found it in a charity shop for £5. It’s not very practical but it adds to the vintage vibe of this outfit. I’ve made a couple of visits to charity shops since they reopened last week; I think it’s taking a while for them to restock and get back up to speed as the rails were a bit bare. Hopefully things will soon pick up.
In other news, I’m having my first Covid vaccination tomorrow! I never thought I’d be excited to have an injection! I don’t know which one it will be but I really don’t care. I’m hoping I won’t have any side effects. Fingers crossed!
