I’m a big fan of floral prints with a dark base colour in winter, so when I saw this midi skirt on sale I quickly added it to my basket. It was actually one of the items in the elusive M&S parcel (along with the gold jumper). The skirt is pure cotton so I will get plenty of wear out of it in the summer, but for colder weather it works well with tights and boots.
Whenever I wear an A-line midi skirt in winter I often choose my biker jacket rather than a coat. Getting the right length of coat can be tricky with a flared skirt, so a jacket is an easy option. Layering a turtle neck sweater underneath ensures I stay warm – I would also add a scarf if it was really cold. The bold yellow floral print midi skirt and biker jacket is a really versatile combination that will take you pretty much anywhere. It’s an outfit I would wear to work, for lunch with friends or a day out sightseeing. I usually opt for a low heel boot when I’m going to be walking a lot. I wore a similar outfit for the Fluorescent PR press day in London last January.

I added my bright yellow bag, plus jewellery with gold and yellow tones to mirror the print of the skirt. It’s a really warm and comfortable outfit, but not at all bulky. The jacket has knitted panels on the sleeves and down the sides so its nice and stretchy. The only snag is the skirt tends to cling to tights, so I’ll need to wear a slip under it or it would really bug me!
