Pink Culottes and Cold Shoulder Top + Style With a Smile Link Up

Pink Culottes and Cold Shoulder Top

It really feels like Autumn is just around the corner now with the evenings drawing in. The main consolation of Summer nearing its end is the sales. Although there’s a lot of tat on the rails, if you have the patience to trawl through them it can pay off. I bought these pink culottes at Marks & Spencer along with the sunshine yellow dress. They were both roughly half price which I was quite happy with…until I went into another M&S store a couple of weeks later and saw the dress reduced to £4.99 and the culottes to £8.49! Don’t you just hate it when that happens? But then I consoled myself with the fact that if I hadn’t bought them when I did I wouldn’t have had them to take to Brittany.

I packed these pink culottes and cold shoulder top because I knew the proportions would work together

Sales frustrations aside, I love these culottes and I know I’ll get plenty of wear from them. The quality is fantastic and they feel much more expensive than even the full price. They make a great alternative to a midi skirt, especially on a breezy day. We took these photos in the ruins of the old church at the end of my dad’s field, which makes a nice change from my back garden. I love doing outfit photos on holiday, but it does require a bit of planning. I packed these pink culottes and cold shoulder top because I knew the proportions would work together (I’ve also worn the top with my metallic culottes).

Pink Culottes and Cold Shoulder Top

I’ve had this top for years, in fact I think I bought it from a Freemans catalogue – that’s going back some! After going out of fashion I stored it away in a suitcase in the loft, but now the cold shoulder trend is back with a vegence and its time has come again! It’s great for taking on holiday because it’s light and doesn’t crease. Plus it goes with almost everything. I added some gold accents with my jewellery and wedge espadrilles, which are also holiday wardrobe go-tos.

As soon as I spotted the bag my heart skipped a beat, especially when I saw it was on sale!

The bag was a holiday treat which I bought on a shopping trip to Paimpol, a lovely little town a short drive from my dad’s. I also bought the jacket I wore in last week’s link up post that afternoon. As soon as I spotted the bag my heart skipped a beat, especially when I saw it was on sale! It cost 44 euros with the discount, which I thought was a bargain. All in all that was a very satisfying shopping trip 🙂

Do you like to shop the sales early? Or do you wait until the end for big discounts and risk your favourites being sold out? If you have a strategy please do share it! Now it’s time to link up 🙂

This is such a great outfit, Emma—no matter what the price!! If you had waited, they might not have been available in your size—so I try not to get too upset when I notice sales on the items I’ve purchased already!!!

I struggle with end of season sales, only because I’m not sure if next season, I’ll have the same tastes! I stick to classics mostly, because there are som awesome deals to be had! I love your culottes and think they’re a great closet addition!

I simply adore this colour amalgamation, it’s perfect and shouts stylish lady – as you are. I saw those culottes and decided against them – silly me. I did, however buy for £8 a pink dress, not sure if it’s a thumbs up or not, as the jury’s out on that one (until I can see how it looks – lol).
Your photos are stunning too Emma – well done. x
Thanks for the link up as well. x

LOve your pink culloutes Emma! I have thought about a pair of denim cullotes but never pull the trigger! These look great on you and I love the siluoette with the black top, very pretty. Of course I love your bag. What a neat photoshoot! I mentioned to hubby that I want to do more locational shoots in the Fall..I tend to shop some sales early as I think my size goes out quickly so I want to get it before its gone!

Gorgeous bag to go with the look. I’ve linked in my recent post on a similar look. Mine was flame and black. We could almost have done a collab. I’m not sure what bag I would have used. My leopard bag has brown in so wouldn’t have worked. I probably would have used black with my look.

You scored some awesome pieces. Love the culottes and bag and that cold-shoulder black top goes with EVERYTHING!

Lately (last weekend to be exact) I walked into Loft (one of my favorite US stores) and got like 11 pieces for about $115, because with all the sales, coupon codes and another discount code I had I saved about 85-90% off the total price.
