It’s hard to believe we’re already more than halfway through July, the Summer is flying by. We’ve had some glorious weather here in the UK, which has given me the opportunity to wear my Zara sale bargains. I’d had my eye on this skirt for a while, and almost bought it pre-sale, but I chose the skirt with sleeves instead. Well, all good things come to those who wait, and if you can hold out for the sales it’s definitely worth it. I rarely pay full price for clothes – when there are so many offers and sales on it’d be daft to. The only exception is if I really want it and can’t risk it being sold out.
I’m mixing old with new in this outfit because I’ve had the top for years. In fact it’s probably as old as the red top I wore with my khaki trousers and jacket a couple of weeks ago. Sometimes hoarding pays off! The red one shoulder top and gingham floral skirt is a perfect pairing of old and new. It’s also a very cool and light outfit for warm summer days. I’m a big fan of cold shoulder and one shoulder tops because they highlight one of the most defined parts of the body. If you’re not comfortable with your cleavage on show, exposing the shoulders is a more subtle alternative.
The red suede court shoes with the striped bow clips add a dressier touch for evenings and special occasions, but I’d swap these for wedge sandals if I was going to be doing a lot of walking. I love being able to change the look of my shoes with different clips – it’s a great trick for getting more wear out of your shoes. I wore them previously with pearl clips to go with my saucy postcard dress.
I picked up on the pale blue in the skirt by adding a blue flower ring, bracelet and bag. I bought the ring from a little shop in Brittany a few years ago. I’ll be going back there soon so I’m hoping to pick up another pretty souvenir 🙂
