Happy Friday! Are you all ready for the weekend? I know I am after this morning’s 5am alarm call! Today I’m sharing my latest beauty indulgence, the Tili Beauty Box Fifth Edition from QVC. The Tili boxes have all had rave reviews and it’s easy to see why: you get to try a selection of high-end beauty products at a fraction of the RRP. Best of all is that you don’t have to subscribe and you can see exactly what you’re getting. In the past I’ve bought other beauty boxes and probably loved and used up about half the contents, with the rest left to clutter up my bathroom cabinet for all eternity.
For £20 you get a selection of new launches, cult brands and well-established favourites. I bought the first three Tili boxes, but skipped the fourth because it just didn’t appeal to me enough – either I already had some of the selected products or I knew I wouldn’t use them. On the other hand, this fifth edition had me clicking ‘add to basket’ immediately. For me, this box contains the perfect combination of skincare, cosmetics and bodycare, with a decent-sized perfume to top it off.
This lipstick was the real hook for me. I’m a fairly recent convert to the Tarte brand, but I have loved everything I’ve tried so far (you can see my review of the Maneater set here). Colada is a peachy-brown nude shade that is right up my street. This moisture-rich, long-lasting lipstick provides full, creamy coverage that doesn’t dry out my lips. It’s not a full-sized tube, but it’s ideal for popping in my handbag for touch-ups throughout the day.
This deep rosy mauve shade will suit most people. The creamy full-coverage lip colour contains primer-infused formula, that gives a soft satin-matte finish. I’m generally not all that keen on matte finish lipsticks but this is one I know I will use regularly. It doesn’t have that strange drying effect that some other similar products have and the colour is within my go-to range of shades.
I’m a micellar water devotee, but the right eye make-up remover can tempt me to stray every so often. The Gatineau Floracil is a fragrance-free bi-phase formula enriched with Aloe Vera, Witch Hazel and Vitamin E. It claims to instantly remove mascara (waterproof), heavy-duty eyeshadow and eyeliner to leave your eye area and lashes feeling smooth and conditioned. I haven’t actually tried it yet, but at £18 for 118ml I’m pretty sure I won’t be buying it after this one runs out. One to save for my travel wash bag.
This is a rich, zesty fragrance with bursts of citrus underpinned with a sensual blend of musk, woods and leather. This fragrance manages to be zingy and exotic at the same time. I received a Shay & Blue fragrance in another beauty box which I quite liked, but not enough to wear regularly. I definitely prefer this one.
This lightweight satin-feel formula is designed to reduce the appearance of dark spots, even out skin tone and boost radiance to leave your complexion looking brighter and glowing. I haven’t been using it long enough to gauge its effectiveness, but I do like the texture and feel of this serum. The milky-coloured liquid sinks into the skin instantly. It’ll be interesting to see the results over a longer period of use.
The full-sized version of this body oil comes in a spray, which I dare say makes for a much easier application than trying to pour it into your hand first. The lightweight formula melts into the skin to leave skin feeling smooth, supple and soft. It’s enriched with over 50% almond oil, plus camelina oil, but doesn’t feel at all greasy. At £36 for 100ml it’s not cheap, but it’d be nice for treat.
I’ve used this papaya enzyme peel many times so this is one of the products I know I will use up. It’s a creamy, exfoliating formula formulated to revitalise the look of dull skin and leave your complexion looking bright and feeling soft. It’s enriched with natural fruit enzymes of papaya and pineapple, plus vitamin E and marine algae. This treatment always perks my skin up when it’s looking a bit lacklustre.
Ever since I stopped having gel overlays on my nails they’ve been desperately trying to recover. Almost a year later they are still not as strong and resilient as they should be. Peeling and flaking is the main issue so I like to keep them well protected. This pink gel coat creates a thick, protein-rich coating to help to maintain your nails’ natural strength, with a pink tint to bring out the colour in your nail for an enhanced finish. The keratin-rich formula includes an optical brightener that filters out any yellow appearance in your nails, bringing out the natural color in your nail bed and making the whites of your nails appear whiter. It’s recommended that you apply it directly to your natural nails once a week and re-coat anytime. It can be removed with any nail polish remover. I haven’t tried this yet, but I’ll keep you updated.
I received the body cream from this range in a previous beauty box (I included it in my January beauty favourites) and loved the delicate fragrance. This luxurious shower gel turns into a creamy foam upon contact with water to gently cleanse your skin and leave it fragranced with the uplifting scent of cherry blossom. A lovely travel-sized shower gel to pop in my wash bag.

I should invest a bit time in these boxes to find out which one I want!
They’re a great way to discover new brands…and for getting travel sized products to take on holiday!
Wow, that box looks quite impressive. Never heard of it, but it looks like its definitely worth a look.
