Brown and Green Wrap Dress

February 18, 2012

The beauty of the classic wrap dress is that it is flattering to all shapes and sizes. Plus, it’s adjustable, which means it’s very forgiving. Actually, this brown and green wrap dress is a little bit big for me now.  I’ve had it packed away for a few years but I love the colour and the style so much, particularly the delicate seed beads on the bottom half of the dress. It’s made from a lovely soft jersey fabric so it’s super comfortable.

Determined to get more wear out of it, I managed to tie it really tightly and secure the neckline with a safety pin. For extra cleavage coverage I could layer a brown vest or thin turtle neck top underneath it. The latter would be a good option for Winter. I love having dresses that I can style in different ways all year round.

I’ve kept the colour scheme simple with long brown leather boots and a handbag which I bought in Italy. In warmer weather I could swap the boots for either classic court shoes or wedge espadrilles. I’ve added a metallic flower necklace and a bronze-toned bracelet (both Christmas gifts) as finishing touches. It’s a simple but elegant look that works for so many occasions.
