Last Night in Paris

All good things must come to an end, including the most wonderful long weekend in Paris. We spent our last night in Paris in Montmartre – the area we were staying in. The lovely Terrass Hotel is a fabulous place to stay, both in terms of comfort and location. It’s a stone’s throw away from Montmartre cemetery (we could see it from our window).

The staff there knew our trip was to celebrate my birthday and we arrived to find a bottle of wine and lovely handwritten note in the room. It was very nice wine too! The photo above is from the 7th floor rooftop bar/restaurant. What an amazing view!

For dinner we strolled up the hill to the Moulin de la Galette, a charming restaurant near the top of Montmartre.

One thing we just had to do was try absinthe – not a drink for the faint-hearted. If you’ve never tried it, I can only describe it as a more intense version of Pernod. The barman seemed a bit taken aback that tourists would want to drink it, but trust me, one is enough!

So that’s the last of my posts on our Paris trip. I’m off to France again at the weekend, but this time to the more tranquil location of Brittany. Thanks for reading, have a lovely day!

This is where I link up!
