In Tuesday’s post I was dressing for the hot and humid weather in shorts and a vest; since then the heat has dropped away to be replaced by cooler, wet conditions. While it’s by no means cold, it serves as a reminder that Autumn is just around the corner. That means I’ll be getting plenty of wear out of my jackets, especially lightweight biker jackets.
I like them because they go with almost anything – trousers, jeans, a pencil skirt or even a dress. The fact that I can buy them in a multitude of colours just makes them more appealing. As well as this khaki one (previously seen here) I also have one in bright blue, plus a thicker one in mustard for Winter, which I’ll feature in due course. The red lifts the muted tones of the khaki faux suede biker jacket and cropped grey trousers. The last time I wore this jacket on the blog I paired it with red…maybe it’s time to think of some alternatives!
This type of outfit will serve me well as we transition from Summer to Autumn. I can’t help looking for jackets like this in other colours; they’re just so comfortable and versatile. Unlike real suede, this faux suede fabric is slightly stretchy and feels much softer. As it’s lightweight it would be ideal for travelling in, and the elasticity means it can easily accomodate a thicker layer underneath if required. That said, I’m hoping I won’t be needing chunky sweaters for a good few weeks yet, maybe months. I never did put my Winter wardrobe away though…it’s always good to be prepared!

Emma, love those pieces and their combination into a fantastic outfit. Wide-leg crops are a favorite in my closet and yours are divine. As for the moto-style jacket, it’s so versatile and what doesn’t it go with? You’ve done a fabulous job of pairing them and with such a creative color palette. Thanks for sharing your styling ideas and for hosting. I hope that you’re having a wonderful weekend.

Have just returned from shopping, and have seen check and tartan everywhere. This looks fab together. I’m not sure if i’m looking forward to Autumn or not. Jacqui Mummabstylish
Emma, I love this color palette! Such a great outfit. I added a bunch of new moto jackets to my wardrobe in the Spring that didn’t get much wear, so I am really looking forward to styling them in the fall once the weather cools!

First thing I said out loud when I opened your post was: I want those trousers! Gerben sighed! Fabulous trousers!
Love the moto jacket. I used to have a few back in the day (way back) and now I’m so sad that I didn’t keep them. Love that color.
You look fabulous in this outfit, Emma! I love the colour combo and the jacket is gorgeous! XXX
Emma you look great. I love red to this pants. Here is still warm. we need no jacket at the moment.
If I feel cold, I prefer one of my Cashmere Cardigans.
Have a nice day, XO Tina
I love the bright red top with the khaki jacket Emma. Beautiful colours together! I’m so happy the heat wave has passed! xx
Such a pretty color combo.
I keep reading about dressing for the changing of the seasons, into Autumn, etc but I just can’t think about that at the moment. It’s still in the mid 30s here in the Algarve so all I can think of is my new bikini lol!
I do love your jacket though, it’s gorgeous! I’ve got a similar suede one in black but I think I’ve only worn it once!! Yours would look great with pretty much any colour. I’d love to see it with something pink though. Maybe a dress? That would look gorgeous!
