Leopard Print Boots and a Peplum Skirt

Leopard Print Boots and a Peplum Skirt

Well that’s British Summer Time done for another year, sigh. Did you all enjoy the extra hour in bed? On second thoughts maybe it’s best not to answer that! šŸ˜‰ I can’t pretend I like the long dark evenings and shorter days, which make doing blog photos so much more difficult. There are a few benefits to the colder months I suppose: smart coats, chunky sweaters and long boots.

Amongst the rediscovered seasonal lovelies were these fabulous leopard print boots and a peplum skirt from Zara.

This last week I’ve been packing away most of my Summer clothes and reawakening the Winter wardrobe. Amongst the rediscovered seasonal lovelies were these fabulous leopard print boots and a peplum skirt from Zara. I’ve had both the skirt and boots for several years (I first wore the boots on the blog here). However, the prize for oldest garment in this outfit goes to the top, which I reckon I bought about 17 years ago. The label says it’s from Etam, which disappeared from the UK high street in 2005!

Of course, I still like to add a few new on trend pieces to my wardrobe each season, but classic black and leopard print never go out of fashion.

In fact, nothing in this outfit is remotely new; that’s the joy of these twice-yearly seasonal changeovers. You get the excitement of finding “new” things without the spends. Of course, I still like to add a few new on trend pieces to my wardrobe each season, but classic black and leopard print never go out of fashion.

I can’t remember exactly how much I paid for these boots, but they weren’t expensive – around Ā£30/Ā£40 I think. Looking at comparable boots I reckon I got a good deal! Time and again, eBay comes up trumps for unusual pieces at bargain prices.

The faux leather peplum elevates the pencil skirt and gives it a sassy edge. A simple and streamlined top is all it requires. Instead of a necklace I chose a pair of big earrings, which are a bit hidden under my hair. I’m enjoying substituting a statement necklace for earrings, and there’s so much choice at the moment. I’ve just ordered a couple of colourful pairs from eBay. I find earrings work much better for me now my hair is shorter. I added a gold spike bracelet and continued the animal theme with this lion door knocker ring.
