When I’m not working and don’t have to leave the house early, I love to lounge around in pyjamas all morning. Easing myself into the day with a bowl of porridge and a cup of tea, followed by a coffee or two while catching up with the day’s news is a simple pleasure. That particular routine of mine is now even better since receiving these Pretty You London pyjamas. They are the softest PJs I’ve ever worn!
These days, I’m quite fussy when it comes to nightwear because I frequently get hot in the night due to perimenopause. And yet, I like to be covered up because otherwise I feel cold. It’s a tricky balancing act! Light, breathable fabrics are a must. This bamboo tee and trouser set* fits the bill perfectly. The bamboo viscose with 5% elastane blend ensures they keep me cool and comfy all night. Bamboo is naturally breathable and moisture-wicking, which helps to regulate body temperature. Plus, it’s one of the fastest-growing renewable resources, making it a sustainable choice.
The process of making bamboo fabric begins with harvesting the stalks, which are crushed to extract cellulose pulp. This cellulose is processed into soft, breathable fibres through a method called viscose production. After that, the cellulose is dissolved in a non-toxic solution, which is then spun into fine threads to create the fabric.
Pretty You London is a British company specialising in luxury and contemporary designs with sustainability in mind. Their use of bamboo, Ecovero, and BCI cotton (cotton produced under the Better Cotton Initiative) ranges mark the first step towards becoming a fully sustainable brand. Their range of nightwear is extensive, including many different designs and colours of nightshirts, pyjamas, robes and slippers. There is also a range of men’s nightwear and bamboo bedding too.
