This month’s Stylish Monday theme of “A Pop of Colour” is right up my street! You probably know how much I love bright colours by now, so this brief gave me plenty of options. I decided to indulge my love of orange for this outfit though, with this fabulous statement sleeve sweater.
I wore this outfit to work and it seemed to go down well judging by the comments I got. It is a bit of an attention grabber I suppose. For that reason I paired it with my neutral check trousers. (The last time I featured it on the blog was with a Fabienne Chapot peach print skirt.) It’s not a super thick knit so it’s fine for mild temperatures. Unlike a lot of statement sleeves, these are soft so they fit under a coat or jacket easily. Not content with just one pop of colour, I’ve added a second one with my orange handbag.
These trousers were such a great find – I bought them in a Marks & Spencer outlet for only £7! They’re really good quality and a timeless style. I’ve missed looking for bargains in shops; online shopping is ok but you can’t see the fabric properly in photos. Parceling up clothes and sending them back is a bit of a faff isn’t it? In just over a month all non-essential shops will reopen, including charity shops…I can’t wait!

“Like most of my Stylish Monday sisters, I LOVE color and am not ashamed to wear it, and just adding a pop of color to an otherwise neutral palette is a fun little trick to add to your repertoire if you’re not comfortable with wearing too much color. Pop on over to my blog for a peek at today’s outfit, and more style tip for adding pops of color to your wardrobe.”
“Color makes me happy, especially bold bright color! However, today I’m sharing how you can easily add touches of color to pop an otherwise monochromatic look if color isn’t your thing! What color would you pair with gray? Stop by my blog to see the colors I added to one outfit!”
“Green is my forever favorite color and the month of March really makes me want to wear all of the green things as I impatiently await the arrival of Spring. This outfit has a few more layers to beat the Winter chill and another print to create extra interest. Won’t you stop by to see more of this outfit and how it came to be!”
“What’s better to wear for a color challenge than a “Colorblock Sweater”? I added even more pop of color with a bright bag!”
“Adding a pop of color, shine, sparkle, feathers, faux fur, or an unexpected print is a simple way to breathe life to any outfit. Stop by the blog for simple tips on how to work with your existing wardrobe and break out of your Pandemic style rut.”
“I love lilac! But the color doesn’t look good on when I wear it in my face. This skirt was actually a bit to tight and I sold it. But the color and the fabric, it looked a bit like tweed, were fabulous. I like to wear lilac with purple, or with pink , or like here with orange. I am on the hunt for a new, or pre loved, lilac skirt! One that fits!”
“My neon pink cardigan was thrifted, and are styled with Camo joggers. I paired the outfit with a zebra print tote.”
“We rightly think a pop of color on a neutral background adds interest, drama and elevates an outfit. Well today I’m the pop of color. I just couldn’t resist a bright spring dress to blast us out of the doldrums!”
“Seven months of snow means white and black everywhere. Occasionally, a hint of yellow. The sky is either dark with white pin dots and green stripes, gray with white polka dots, pink or orange, or steel blue (my favorite). Not much color. Thus, in the cold season you have hunger for color. So even though red adds a lot of weight (not actually, but it gives the illusion of being heavy), it’s one of my weapons to fight the winter blues.”
“Green is one of my favorite bright colors, especially Kelly Green. It’s also one of the most popular Pantone Colors of 2021. I wore this cute outfit today on a 47° sunny day (it felt warmer than that) and my beautiful daughter took these photos. I decided to pair this Kelly Green Eyelet Blouse by J. Crew with these Olive Green Skinny Jeans by Old Navy. Even my net socks are green (and black). They look great under the peep-toe booties.”
What a color explosie that sweater is! And those sleeves!! Amazing, love it.
Emma,
That is certainly an amazing sweater. Not just the gorgeous color but also the way the ruffle frames your arms and shoulders. Street style at its best!

Emma, I don’t know which is most fabulous…the sweater, the pants, or the handbag! But they definitely all work brilliantly together for a fun and unique statement making outfit. I absolutely love this look head to toe!

That bright orange sweater is fabulous! Love it so much with those chic trousers. I actually bought a sweatshirt and a sweater with similar sleeves and both are bright colors so I CANNOT wait to wear them this Spring. =)
