Hello, I hope you all had a good weekend! My orange obsession continues…maybe there’s somehing in it. According to this website orange “stimulates enthusiasm, humor and laughter.” It goes on to describe it as “a wonderful aid against depression and it also builds confidence and courage.” I guess we could all do with more of that right now!
When I bought these trousers I only had one colour combination in mind; however, they’re proving to be more versatile than I thought they’d be. To create a warm colour palette I’ve paired bright orange with gold; you might not be able to see in the photos, but this neutral top has a gold thread running through it which ties in perfectly with the gold buttons and espadrilles. I bought the top from a Marks & Spencer outlet last year and it’s proved to be a really useful Summer top. The bag is more of an ochre shade – in fact it even looks a bit green in some lights – but the warm tone and gold chain handle work well with this outfit. I love these trousers but I can only wear them with a top tucked in…the gold buttons are too nice to hide!
As I mentioned last week, I love trying different colour combinations to find new ways to wear my clothes. You might think bold colours are more limiting than neutrals but that’s not necessarily the case. I’ve got more colourful combinations in mind for these trousers – I’m determined to make them work hard!

Lovely orange! I have to say, I don’t have many bright colors in my wardrobe!….tons of neutrals!….are bright colors a skin tone thing?…i do love neons–and have a few pieces….

Orange. The colour for summer! I have these trousers Emma. I love how you have paired them with gold. Looking fabulous xx
I love the orange trousers, Emma! And this is a lovely outfit!
I’m definitely all about the brights. I have one neutral top and I just don’t reach for it very often. I like how neutrals look on other people, but I don’t like to wear them myself.

Hi Emma
This is so pretty! I love the style of the top, so flattering on you! I love the shimmer to the top and how they go with the orange. The gold is perfect with the buttons on the pants! BOy, if that is what orange does, I should have a closet full!

Love the button detail on the trousers! I wear equal amounts of neutrals and brights, though I tend to keep neutrals for trousers/skirts because brights suit me better nearer the face.
I love the style and colour of these trousers Emma. I need some colour in my wardrobe – i’ve seen some lovely summer dresses in fuschia and I love orange – I’m fairly boring on the whole colour thing sticking mostly to neutrals, so need some colour to brighten my wardrobe up. x
Wow, what a lively vibrant outfit this is Emma, Love the trousers and the button detail is very striking. Jacqui x
I have zero orange things in my closet and I don’t know why (well, is a burnt orange/rust color included? That I do have a few pieces of). I love the bright orange and those pants are just gorgeous on you! What wonderful buttons! I agree – tuck-in tops only. And I’ve been seeing a lot of those twist-front tops this year – love them! What a beautiful little velvet bag, too. Beautiful job on styling these pants and thanks so much for the link-up!
