I love the versatility of shirt dresses; you can wear them with sandals in Summer, and with tights and boots in cooler weather. You can even wear them as a duster over jeans or shorts. So when I spotted this cat print shirt dress in a Next outlet on my lunch break I had to have it. This dress ticks so many boxes: it has cats, ruffles, pockets and it’s just the right length…what more could a cat-loving fashionista ask for?
It’s quite difficult to tell whether the print is navy or black (I think it’s a very dark navy). Either way, teaming this cat print shirt dress with red accessories seemed like the obvious choice for late Summer. Another option is tan, which would work well for Autumn. I may well switch the tie belt for a wider one in future. I did consider a wide red belt with this outfit, but didn’t want to go overboard on the matching accessories.
This red bag is also a belt bag (it has loops at the back for the belt to slot through). It’s Zara’s budget-friendly alternative to the Gucci belt bag/bumbag seen in so many street style photos. I bought it in the sale, making it extra budget-friendly 😉 I don’t like to invest big bucks in passing trends, although I’m hoping this one sticks around because it’s oh so practical. Also, I haven’t actually worn it as a bumbag yet and I don’t want to miss the boat!
SHOP THE LOOK
This cute cat ring is from Les Nereides, one of my favourite jewellery brands. The designs are really quirky, and nature themes feature strongly in their pieces. I love anything with an animal motif (although I’m sure you know that by now!) You can find lots of Les Nereides jewellery on eBay for very reasonable prices.
