Styling floral prints for a comfy office-appropriate look

At this time of year I mentally mothball my big coats (even though I don’t actually pack them away) in favour of jackets. A bright, colourful blazer instantly lifts a black outfit, and in the case of floral prints, add a little bit of Summer cheer. There’s no dress code where I work but I do like to make the distinction between my work wardrobe and off-duty outfits. After all, if I wore jeans to work I’d have no need to wear anything else, and that would just get boring. Even if you are required to dress smartly for work, styling floral prints for a comfy office-appropriate look is easily achieved with a jacket.

There are only 2000 pairs of this limited edition shoe, and £20 from the sale of every pair goes to Marie Curie.

This Star by Julien Macdonald jacket is a good few years old, but it’s great for warmer weather because it’s very lightweight. It looks smart thanks to the tuxedo style and black trim, and the slight stretch in the fabric makes it very comfortable. For a casual vibe I chose these gorgeous Hotter daffodil pumps, which I won on Laurie’s blog…I love them and have worn them lots already! While I love novelty bags to add a playful element to my outfits…my Jennifer Hamley bags always make me feel super confident…

My Jennifer Hamley Mini KT bag is perfect for staying organised on the go. It has many of the features of the larger Model KT bag which I’ve featured before on the blog herehere and here. While I love novelty bags to add a playful element to my outfits (like the rainbow clutch and the wine bottle) my Jennifer Hamley bags always make me feel super confident and in control. There’s a time and a place for everything, right?

How do you dress smartly while staying comfortable?
