At this time of year the temperature can fluctuate wildly during the course of the day. Mornings and evenings can feel quite chilly, but the middle of the day can get quite warm. That can make it difficult to know what to wear for work, especially in an air conditioned office.
Choosing light, breathable fabrics that you can layer is the key to staying comfortable. This Clements Ribeiro silk dress is perfect for keeping cool while being structured enough to look smart. I already have a skirt in the same pattern, but when I saw this dress on the sale rail at TKMaxx I couldn’t resist it. The jacket, which is made from a stretch jersey material, is a useful cover up for when the temperature drops. Plus, it doesn’t crease so I can fold it up and tuck it away in my bag. Well, not this bag because it’s too small! (I usually take a bigger bag to work.)
I thought black shoes would look too heavy so I chose nude studded sandals instead. The only piece of jewellery I added was a gold cuff that I picked up in New Look for £5 in the sale.
