Loose, flowing clothes are the order of the day when it’s hot and humid. Yesterday I featured a new maxi dress from Twisted Wunder that’s perfect for holidays and garden parties…or maybe just relaxing in the garden with a glass of something cold. When it comes to more office-appropriate options for Summer I don’t think you can go far wrong with a shirt dress. They offer enough coverage without the need to add layers, plus they’re super comfortable.
Although I have quite a few shirt dresses, I can never resist adding another one to my collection if the print really grabs me. The polka dot print and cute cherry motif of this Essential Antwerp shirt dress instantly caught my eye. I saw it listed on eBay for a very reasonable price – £35 brand new with tags. For such a good quality brand I thought that was a bargain!
The pyjama style piping and flared sleeves are lovely details that give it a luxurious feel, as does the soft fabric. Even though the fit is loose, it does tend to gape at the top button. I suppose I could pin it or wear a vest underneath and leave it open. Alternatively, I could also wear it as a duster jacket over jeans and a T-shirt.
The cherries steered me towards red accessories, although I think blue or bright green would look great too. My bag is by LaBante, and is completely vegan . Some faux leather bags are made using animal-derived glue but LaBante bags and purses are both vegan and ethical. They are made with recycled materials – the interiors are made from reclaimed plastic bottles, whilst the outers are made with vegetable by-products. When I lost my beloved Vivienne Westwood purse on a night out I replaced it with one from LaBante. I bought this bag brand new on eBay for £25 – the RRP is £89.99 so another bargain!

These fun cherry earrings from Zara are perfect for this dress with its embroidered cherry motif. Recently, Zara had a fabulous collection of fruity jewellery made with seed beads, but it looks like it has been discontinued. I’ve found several other options which I’ve included in the widget. I also bought some lemon earrings when I ordered these…I’m totally addicted to bold and quirky jewellery! My favourite themes are animals and fruit 🙂

Fun earrings! I have a hard time passing up cute sandals when they are on sale but am trying to to buy something unless I can see myself really wearing it a lot.

Essential Antwerp is a beautiful brand but it runs a bit small doesn’t it. It’s a lovely dress, I also love the cherry detail. Zara has fantastic earrings and necklaces!
Thanks Nancy! This is the first time I’ve bought Essential Antwerp so it was a bit of a gamble.

I adore cherries in jewellery and clothes, so your earrings and shirt dress are really floating my boat! I nearly made fruit the subject of our next Style Not Age Challenge!
Ooh…that would have been fun, but I love the theme you’ve chosen. Maybe we can do fruity fashion another time!
