Welcome to the last Stylish Monday link up of the year! With just over two weeks until Christmas we’re feeling festive and dressing for the holidays! Sparkles, sequins, tartan and Christmas jumpers…we’ve got it all covered!
I love sequins and glitter at this time of year so I’ve put together a sparkly festive holiday outfit. A couple of years ago I became mildly obsessed with sequin skirts and bought three or four. This one is the boldest and shiniest – perfect for parties. I also have a more muted grey sequin skirt, which would be more office-appropriate.
The sequins on this skirt are long, rather than the traditional round ones. As there’s not much overlap you can see the black skirt underneath. With this in mind I tend to automatically pair it with a black top. You could dress a sequin skirt down with a sweatshirt and trainers – a look I’ve yet to try, but in theory I love it. Switching those for a silky camisole and strappy sandals will take you from day to evening in next to no time.
I’ve opted for somewhere in between with a flared sleeve jumper and glitter ankle boots. This is a great combination for when you want to dress up but also want to stay warm. Granted, statement sleeves can be tricky when it comes to choosing a coat, so I’d layer a black cape over the jumper. Currently I don’t have one but I’m on the hunt for a preloved one.
I’ve added a classic evening bag (previously seen here with a black jumpsuit) and a cocktail ring from a charity shop.
You may recall that I showed you lots of December party outfits in the latest Match Made in Seven post. If you’re stuck for ideas you’ll find plenty of outfit inspo there! (Sequins, lace and velvet feature heavily!)
