On our last afternoon of the holiday, we treated ourselves to afternoon tea at the hotel across the road from the apartment. The Quinta Jardins do Lago is a rather impressive house, built in the 18th century. The surrounding gardens cover 2.5 hectares and contain more than 500 different species of plant. We first visited in 2019, and have also been in 2021 and 2022.
Because the gardens are so beautiful, teeming with amazing flowers, I like to match the setting with my outfit. When we decided to go for afternoon tea there, I knew straight away what I was going to wear! This puff sleeve floral print midi dress* is perfect for visiting a tropical garden. It’s so lightweight and airy, it feels like wearing a cloud. I love the puff sleeves and pretty floral print, And as with all my other Izabel dresses, it fits just right. I made sure I held on to my hat in the breeze after losing one last year!
Colombo the giant tortoise was resting in his house, but we did stop by to say hello to him. You can see some photos of us meeting him in 2019 here. Captive Galapagos tortoises can live to over 170 years, so at the age of 68, Colombo could live another 100 years or more…I find that incredible!
