Oh how I miss these magnificent views! Of course, it’s nice to be back with my furry friend (I always miss him terribly when we’re away), but Madeira really is a little island paradise. It’s become a bit of a tradition for us to have afternoon tea at the hotel across the road from the apartment. (We’ve previously visited in 2019 and last October). The gardens are stunningly beautiful and serene. The resident Galapagos giant tortoise was asleep in his house this time so we didn’t get any photos of him. It was after our last visit to the Quinta Jardins do Lago hotel gardens that we decided to get a tortoise…not a giant one though!
When I was in Madeira in April the weather was cooler than I was expecting so I mostly wore trousers. This time I took more trousers and only a couple of dresses…which was a mistake because it was really warm. I’d been saving this pink cotton maxi dress for afternoon tea because I knew it would be perfect for the botanical garden setting. However, I only packed my orange hat which didn’t look right with it. Fortunately, we stumbled upon a little shop on our first day while looking for something else, and I spotted this fabulous wide brimmed hat. At only €6.90 I couldn’t say no! I also bought a pink jumpsuit like my green one, but it was a bit too small. Luckily it fits Isobel perfectly, as you’ll see further down! I think I’m going to have to get used to her nicking my clothes!

I’m obsessed with that shade of pink right now—I read recently that it’s called “Barbiecore” 😉

Oh yes that hat matches perfectly. I always miss my cats too, so sad to leave them behind. Even if it is for a few days. What a pity the jumpsuit didn’t fit you, but it looks perfect on Isobel.
Love this maxi dress and this is a beautiful color on you.

Emma, thanks for featuring my “When Doves Cry” look! That was a lovely surprise! I love this bright pink dress on you and these photos are absolutely beautiful. The wide brimmed hat is making me smile but also making me regret that I didn’t buy the wide brimmed hat I tried on this past weekend. I was intimidated by how wide the brim was, but now I see how darn cute it is on you I wish I had gone for it! And how fabulous is that pink jumpsuit on Isobel! She is so gorgeous but when did she grow enough to start nicking your clothes?! My goodness, they grow up so quickly.

I adore this look, Emma! And Isobel looks fabulous in your jumpsuit. Madeira sounds like a totally awesome place.
