Today’s outfit is another holiday jumpsuit…another black one too. I rarely wear black these days but it looks better on me when I have a bit of a tan. I was gifted this jumpsuit four years ago (first seen here) and it has become a holiday wardrobe staple. Although I usually wear it during the day over a bikini, I decided to dress it up this time. A beach jumpsuit styled for evening is one way to get more wear out of your holiday wardrobe. You have to use that precious luggage allowance wisely!
That said, I actually took three or four outfits that I didn’t wear: two dresses, one jumpsuit (I didn’t take the right bra for it) and my Scotch and Soda floral print two piece. Plus, I packed three one piece swimsuits and a couple of bikinis that I didn’t wear (and about 10 pairs of earrings!). Given that I often don’t know what I want to wear until I open the wardrobe in the morning, planning ahead for a week or so is a difficult task! But including a few tried and tested pieces is a sensible strategy. This beach jumpsuit is a no fuss, comfortable option for day or night, and I never tire of it. My sparkly FitFlops, gold chunky necklace and cuff bracelet make it evening appropriate.
Every time I go on holiday I plan to make a note of what I didn’t wear – and why – for future reference, but I always forget. So now I’ve told you what I didn’t wear on this trip I’ve got it in black and white! Of course, by the time I next go on holiday I may have changed my mind again. It’s a nice problem to have though!

Emma,
Great vacay look. As for packing for a trip, for me it depends on my mode of travel. I’m much more careful with planning outfits and maximizing mix/match options if I’m flying and need to limit for luggage and weight. If I’m taking my car, then overpacking doesn’t present as such a problem as long as its just two us in the car. Even so, I do try to plan based on likely activities and minimize any excesses.

Looking very fresh and glamorous Emma. Love the sparkly flip flops. I am hopeless at packing for summer holidays- I take a huge case and far too much stuff!
What a great jumpsuit, and you look amazing! The simplest items always seem to be the most valuable on holiday – something I don’t always tell myself!

Emma, thanks so much for the feature! What a lovely surprise! I love this black jumpsuit with the sassy little cut out trim. It looks great dressed up with some bling, but it also looks amazingly comfortable as a beach cover up. I also hate packing for travel because I am so much of a mood dresser. I consistently over pack and don’t wear 3/4 of what I take. I also prefer to travel by car when I can so I have the space to overpack and it doesn’t much matter!
