I’m a big fan of flared midi skirts, even more so when they have pockets like this one. I bought this skirt ages ago but it was a bit on the snug side, and consequently got pushed to the back of the wardrobe. The zip sticks at the waistband so it’s not easy to do up (well that’s my excuse anyway!) Once it’s on and done up it’s fine, I just can’t eat a big meal while wearing it!
Everything in this outfit is quite old. I’ve had the cardigan for years and it’s been through at least one house move with me, maybe two. Bizarrely I just never think to wear it, which is silly because it’s perfect with a flared skirt or dress. I bought the sheer flower T-shirt in a charity shop for next to nothing. However, I underestimated just how see-through it is and I don’t feel comfortable wearing it on its own. Teaming this sheer top with the floral print midi skirt and cropped cardigan tones it down and prevents it looking too risqué.
This leather bag is also years old and one I don’t use very often because it’s too small for work. When I bought it about twelve years ago there was a bigger version available and I’ve always regretted not buying that instead. I think the structured top handle style looks like one of the Queen’s bags! I added the cat eye sunglasses for a 1950’s vibe…I’m all about the vintage look at the moment!

This is one of my favourite outfits so far, Emma! I LOVE the sheer top underneath – I think it’s beautiful! I’d wear a black vest top of some kind beneath it, I think.
Gorgeous!

Thanks Suzy! I did toy with the idea of a black vest but I wanted to wear the sheer top because I’ve had it for about a year and thought it was time it got an outing!
Love a skirt with pockets!!

Me too Jaymie…and dresses!
What a gorgeous skirt, Emma!
I have a shirt like this but I always wear a t-shirt under it…I never thought to just wear a cardigan over it!!

Thanks Jodie! I might try a thin vest underneath it – there’s not much room though!
I wouldn’t change a single detail. This is a wonderful outfit and you look fabulous. And skirt with pockets is a fantastic find indeed! Thanks for sharing your style and for the link up.

Emma, your top is fabulous. It looks a cross between a sexy negligee and an equally sexy bodysuit!!! Your entire ensemble is fabulous 🙂

Emma, this is a fabulous pairing! It is actually very similar to the outfit I am wearing today. Hopefully, I get some pictures of it today! The sheer tee is amazing! I would probably layer it as well and the way you did it is perfect!

love this outfit! such a cute skirt! love midis!
You look fantastic! And the red criss-cross pumps are the perfect finishing touch
Pretty skirt, looks great with the red heels. Clever solution to a sheer top, wearing it with a cropped cardi. Gail x
I love everything about this Emma! The skirt, the shoes…all of it! And don’t you just hate it when everything about a skirt is perfect…except the waistband being about a 1/2 inch shy of comfortable?!

Super styling here Emma! I love the lace top but for me it would be one of those skimpy camisoles. I find them great for lace and who would want to see me exposing myself? !!
