Bom Dia from Funchal! We are enjoying the Easter break in Madeira, where the weather is pleasantly warm. After a late night flight, I slept a lot for the following couple of days and am just about recovered with a full battery! We took advantage of the best day, according to the forecast, on Tuesday by going to the lido. Yesterday, we had a stroll around town and stopped for a leisurely lunch at one of our favourite places, Prima Caju. I always have the Wabi Sabi bowl, which is marinated tofu, quinoa, rocket, avocado, pickled cabbage and ginger. All washed down with a fresh juice blend. Delicious!
We stopped by my favourite shop, Dona Hortensia (of course!). Actually, there are several dotted around Funchal. You might find it hard to believe but I didn’t buy any clothes! Instead, I bought a cute salt and pepper set in the shape of tomatoes. The homeware is amazing, I wish I could fit some more in my suitcase! I bought this flower print trouser co-ord in Dona Hortensia last year, so I must have looked like a walking advert for them. The trousers were still available, but I didn’t see the top.
It’s a bit rainy today so we will probably head to the shopping centre and have lunch there. There’s a place that does nice salads and tofu cheesecake that is absolutely scrumptious. We’re doing lots of walking, so I think I can indulge a little!

I love what you are wearing! It sounds fabulous to be on holiday now. Enjoy it to the fullest! And thank you so much for the feature!
Emma, that co-ord is gorgeous! It’s the kind of thing I like to wear here when the weather is warm.
I’ve not been to Madeira before, but there was a ferry that went directly from my home town of Portimao a few years ago and we always said we should do it. And then, of course, it stopped! I’m still hopeful that it might start up again because it would be such fun to take the ferry there instead of flying (I’ve heard the landings in Madeira are a bit eye opening lol).
Also it’s good to know we can get good vegan food over there!
Hugs
