Happy Wednesday and last day of January! This post was meant to be published yesterday but life got in the way, as it tends to do. You may recognise this lime green blouse from the Thrifty Six post a couple of weeks ago. When I bought it I thought I’d mostly wear it with some of my other pieces from The Hippie Shake, but it’s proving to be much more versatile than I anticipated.
Well, actually, I’m trying to find different ways to wear what I already own, rather than buying more. (I’m still buying a few things on Vinted because I’m addicted!) This blouse also solved a dilemma I’d had for months: what to wear with this green houndstooth jacket. I bought it from a charity shop back in the summer but I was a bit stumped when it came to styling it. The obvious choice would have been with an all black outfit, but you know I’m all about colour! The green of the blouse and the jacket are a pretty good shade match, so it seemed obvious to try them together. I like the contrast of the lime and black so I teamed them with black trousers and hat.
My earrings and bag are a slightly darker shade of green, but I don’t think it jars too much. The beaded handle helps to emphasis the black rather than the green. Instead of plain black boots, I chose these ones with a subtle leopard print that almost imitates the houndstooth check.

Thank you Suzy!
Such a lovely outfit Emma, the blouse and the jacket look like a twin set. I also like to come with some new ideas of how to wear what I already have. I am sure the black top would look great too and maybe you can try to wear the jacket with something neutral like white or beige. 🙂
Thank you Anna! I don’t have much white in my wardrobe but I so love green and white together, it’s a very fresh colour combo.
Love that shirt Emma, it looks super with your jacket. Thanks for the linkup. Jacqui xx

This jacket is superb, Emma! I do love a houndstooth print, and the green/black combo is so unusual. I think a pair of burgundy/crimson pants would look good, too. I wonder how an orange top would work with the houndstooth jacket. I am sure you will come up with lots of beautifully you outfits! Thanks for the link party!

Thanks Marsha! Those are great suggestions – burgundy would be a fab colour pairing. I don’t have much burgundy in my wardrobe…orange on the other hand, well I have that in abundance!
I am so in love with that jacket, I adore houndstooth! Wear it with pink, yellow! But with the green blouse it looks amazing!
Thank you Nancy!

The blouse looks pretty with the jacket. Neutrals such as navy and beige would look good with it too.
