Long cardigans are autumn/winter essentials because as well as being cosy and warm, they finish off an outfit perfectly. (Covering VPLs and bloated tummies is an added bonus!) This new cardigan* is a little unusual for me, in that the main colour is beige. Now normally I’m allergic to beige, and the mere prospect of a beige cardigan would have me running for the hills. However, I’d say this shade is veering towards camel rather than the pale and insipid beige that I’ve come to loathe. Plus, the sharp contrast of the white and bright green edging gives it a modern, fresh look.
My first thought when it came to styling the cardigan was to keep the outfit as colourful as possible. That led me to choosing these bright green trousers and pairing them with a geometric print top. Teaming the emerald green with neutral tones of beige, white and black gives it an autumnal feel while still staying true to my love of bright hues. To bring the colour scheme together I finished off the outfit with a hat to match the cardigan and a tan bag to add a warmer tone. Ironically, for a garment so comfortable this cardigan pushed me out of my colourful comfort zone. I never thought I would love wearing beige! I think my mum’s got her eye on this cardigan though so I’m not sure how long I’ll be able to hang on to it for!

The minute I opened this email, I was amazed at just how perfectly the cardigan goes with the top and the pants! I am not a big fan of beige, either, but the green and cream really work to draw your eye away from the beige! Thanks so much for the link up, Emma! This beige cardigan isn’t boring indeed because of the green and white. And you styled it perfectly. But I think it will end up in your mother’s closet!
Love the green and brown together!

This is not a boring cardigan by all means. Love the contrasting stripes along the edge and you styled it perfectly. If your mom wants it so much, let her have it :).
That is such a cute cardigan! I love the stripe detail. The green and beige is such a great combo! Thank you so much for the feature!

How lovely to find me featured, that’s a nice surprise Emma. I love this look, the colours work so well together don’t they. I’d definitely wear this look. Have a super Friday and weekend love. Jacqui x
Ha, I love beige (in fact I’m wearing it today) but understand how others might not. I think you styled it in a way that feels very true to your personal style!
