Red and leopard print is one of my favourite combinations and it’s trending this season. For me, it works all year round, but I think it works particularly well for autumn/winter. The general consensus is that leopard print is a neutral, which I agree with. But that doesn’t mean it’s boring – far from it! Even a bag or pair of shoes in this timeless animal print really elevates an outfit. Pair it with bright red and it’s a combination guaranteed to make an impact. If you’re unsure of trying this duo, I have some styling inspiration on how to wear red with leopard print.
A solid column of red is the perfect background for leopard print accessories. I prefer a warm tone – what I’d call the “classic leopard print” rather than a paler pattern. It’s a simple but head-turning formula – great for parties, weddings and nights out on the town.
Everyone needs a red coat for winter, and not just because they’re festive (although that’s a bonus). While burgundy is undoubtedly the red of the moment, a bright pillar box red statement coat is a classic wardrobe piece that you’ll turn to again and again. I’ve had this coat for more than ten years and I still love it. I have other red coats but the flattering fit and length of this one makes it my hands down favourite. My preferred way to wear it is over a black and leopard print outfit.
A red trouser suit with a subtle touch of leopard print is a great way to adapt this trend for your work wardrobe. Keeping the animal print to a minimum and on your feet makes it subtle but you’ll still feel confident and professional. For a more casual take on this combination try red jeans or a tailored jumpsuit.
This option inverts the formula of the first styling suggestion. Pairing black trousers with a leopard print top and adding a red bag for a pop of colour is ideal if you lean towards a neutral wardrobe. Faux leather jeans or leggings with a leopard print blouse is a sassy but sophisticated combination that will take you from day to night. Switch flats for heels and a tote bag for a clutch and you’re good to hit the town!

I couldn’t agree more that red and leopard make for a fabulous match-up. Another styling option I like is pairing a leopard ensemble with red shoes. And what a wonderful surprise to see my post from last week’s link-up as one of the favorites. Thank you for that honor.
