Double denim is a trend that we’ve seen a lot of recently but I have to admit that I found myself a little apprehensive about trying it. It’s definitely a look that’s easier to pull off when you’re in your 20s but that doesn’t mean ladies of more mature years should write it off. The trick is to find a flattering fit and contrasting colours. Wearing a denim shirt and jeans in the same shade just looks like overkill, but choosing a light wash with a darker one, or in this case grey and blue, can really work.

What do you think? Have you tried the double denim trend? Let me know in the comments!

Double denim’s fine if the colour is as varied as you have here. Denim generally looks and feels great so if you have a wide enough space in hues between top and bottom, then you’re fine. You just don’t want to look like a back-up dancer for a 1970’s country western T.V. special. Puke.

That would definitely be a fashion faux pas Lewis!
