Happy Tuesday! I hope your week has got off to a good start 🙂 I’ve been packing away my Summer clothes, which I’m always reluctant to do. I still haven’t finished, but I’m determined to get it all done by the end of the week. Apparently the weather is due to turn very cold over the next few days so I can’t put it off any longer.
It certainly wasn’t cold in Barbados where we took these photos. I’m definitely missing those hot days and balmy evenings. This loose-fitting Eva Trends shift dress (which I think is more like a kaftan) was perfect for throwing on after a day at the beach. When I ordered it I thought it might look very sack-like and unflattering, but I was surprised to find it fits really well.
The contrasting line down the front helps to create an elongating effect and counteracts the loose style. The pockets are a very welcome feature too. But it’s the fabric that really makes it a winner for me; it’s 100% cotton and feels lovely on. I would describe it as a medium weight fabric, so better suited for warm evenings rather than hot and humid days.
My Clarks gold wedge espadrilles are holiday footwear favourites. They are really comfortable and go with everything. Gone are the days when I used to take ten pairs of shoes on holiday. A pair of neutral-coloured flats and these wedges, plus my FitFlops are all I need for a beach holiday. If there’s a gym I take my running shoes too and stuff them with toiletries to save space in my case. It’s amazing what you can fit in them!
Apart from the turquoise ring, I kept my jewellery neutral. I’m a bit obsessed with tassel earrings and took at least eight pairs in various colours! (No, I didn’t wear them all!). The bangle is so old, I must have bought it over twenty years ago. It comes on every holiday though and gets plenty of wear. Some things become tried and tested favourites…I’m sure this dress will too.
Don’t forget you can get 10% off your Eva Trends order with the code EP10!
