The week has got off to a slow start for me after a very early flight back from Madeira on Sunday. Straight back from the sunshine to the longer nights. On the upside, the clocks changed in Madeira too so it meant an extra hour of sleep to soften the blow of getting up in the middle of the night. Yesterday was a bit of a wipeout as I caught up on sleep but I’m just about feeling human again!
Planning ahead, I took these photos the week before our trip. Anna set this month’s Style Not Age theme of “Jeans and Jewels” after being inspired by an Instagram post. I don’t wear jeans very often so I chose one of my vintage denim dresses. (You can see the other one here). Although the dress is embellished, I added a bib necklace over it for extra bling. I’m also wearing the latest addition to my collection of Yaa Yaa London rings. I bought this one during a flash sale recently. The deep blue stone is perfect for this all-blue outfit.
While I was in Funchal I visited my favourite shop there and bought a jacket that would have been perfect for this theme. As I bought it on the penultimate day of the holiday I didn’t have time to photograph it. I will have to save it for another day!
SHOP THE LOOK

Anna is wearing Levis, which were a recent purchase from Camden Market, with a cream denim jacket from Jack Wills. The vest top is old and the belt is from Amazon. The silver boots are old too, as are the jewels. Head over to Anna’s Island Style to find out more.
Gail has layered three Georgian-style necklaces she bought from Etsy with an orange top and denim jacket. Visit Is This Mutton? to see all of the outfit.
Jacqui is sporting jeans with a delightful pearl detail on the ankle. She has combined them with grey Lipsy boots, a new jumper from New Look and an old necklace that was gifted a while ago. A grey Fiorelli bag completes the look. Head over to Mummabstylish to catch up with Jacqui.
Hilda shopped her wardrobe like everyone else. The sumptuous jewel-coloured coat combined with jeans and jewels (left by her daughter when she moved out) looks fab, don’t you agree? You can find all the details at Over the Hilda.

This dress is sublime, Emma! I love the added bling of your necklace with it, too! And, your green nail polish is so fun! We change time this weekend. I think it’s the last time we will do it, but I could be wrong. I hope you had a wonderful time in Madeira!

Thanks Marsha, I had a lovely week in Madeira. Even when it rains it’s still warm, I love it there 🙂
it’s not often that I wear jeans with jewels but I like the look. The jewels lift the look. Love your denim dress
Thank you Anna!
What a change of temperature! I’ll bet you want to fly off to Madeira straight away again. That dress looks very good on you. And that ring is gorgeous.
Thanks Nancy! Oh yes, I could pack up and move there tomorrow! One day hopefully!
I really love the colour of your outfit! So pretty!

What a fabulous little dress. Like all the details in it, it’s perfect for the prompt. Have a super week hun. Jacqui
I love that this denim dress is far from plain – the devil is in the details as they say. Another successful challenge don’t you agree x
