It’s that time of year when temperatures can fluctuate throughout the day, and if (like me) you’re riding the perimenopause rollercoaster, well that adds another dimension. I find myself changing tops, putting on/taking off cardigans frequently. The solution, I’ve found, is light layers.
A silk kimono robe works beautifully as an additional layer or completer piece. I love how versatile this jungle animals kimono robe is because I can wear it indoors over pyjamas, or to elevate an outfit. Here, I tried to tie the belt at the back but it came undone. Leaving it open makes it look less indoorsy, and more like a duster. Another option would be to wear it with a wide elasticated belt, but position it to leave a column of outfit showing rather than wrap it over.
I highlighted the burnt orange trim with this thin turtleneck top. (I have them in several colours because they’re ideal layering pieces). The dark green trousers pick out the leaves in the print, while the statement necklace co-ordinates with the majestic big cats.
This robe from Ulivary is actually made of high quality polyester charmeuse which feels just like natural silk. The soft lightweight texture is breathable and cooling for summer so would be ideal for taking on holiday. It had minimal creasing when I took it out of the package so I’m sure it would travel well. Ulivary have so many beautiful womens long robes – it made choosing one difficult but I’m so pleased with my jungle print kimono! We don’t see kimonos that often here, I don’t think in the UK either right? But they are very elegant and often the print and colours are stunning, like yours.
