It feels like summer has arrived early! Granted, it will probably feel like winter again this time next week, but for now I’m enjoying the sunshine and dusting off my holiday clothes. Towards the end of last summer I bought a few pairs of colourful, airy trousers on Vinted, but I didn’t get chance to wear them. Being restricted after my foot operation meant I spent a lot of time in PJs and shorts. (Round two to come in just over three months!)
When I was fully mobile and able to wear proper shoes again I realised that I’d missed the boat when it came to wearing my new purchases, so I packed them away, In fact, I packed it all away very methodically (a minor miracle for me) in a suitcase in packing cubes. Fast forward to this week, and I opened the cases to find numerous pieces I’d forgotten about! I was looking for some loose trousers and a T-shirt as I had some errands to run but didn’t want to wear shorts. These fruit print trousers are ideal for warm weather thanks to the breathable fabric and summery pattern. I bought this Damson Madder co-ord in the summer sale last year because I was seduced by the fruit print, but the fabric is too thick for really warm days, which kind of defeats the object.
I’d gladly purchase the matching top for these trousers if one exists; I did look online but to no avail. You never know what might turn up on Vinted though! Nevertheless, the print offers plenty of options for choosing a top in a solid colour. I’m looking for a yellow graphic tee with a fruit motif, but I like how this orange top pairs with the trousers. I’ve added to my five a day with a fruit charm necklace and lemon bag and earrings.
Things have been busy! Last Thursday I was working in Birmingham on a special event to show girls the various roles involved in making live news. It was fun chatting to them, talking about their favourite subjects and what they hope to do in their careers. On Friday I went to London to meet up with Jess and her husband Roy. It was wonderful to chat with them in the pub and get to know them better. I’ve been following Jess’s blog now for something like a decade! We had no trouble finding things to talk about (politics and animals featured heavily!). Jess is even more beautiful in real life…like a supermodel! Making connections and building friendships is the best thing about blogging and social media. I hope I get to meet up with more of my lovely readers in the future!
