After our trip to Burgundy we returned to Paris for one last night. As well as staying in our favourite hotel we found ourselves back at Galeries Lafayette to exchange a broken toy we’d bought earlier in the week…it wasn’t sabotage, honestly! Anyway, as we just had to go back we took the opportunity of popping up onto the roof for a few photos. The view is pretty spectacular as it overlooks Opรฉra Garnier.
Spending our last night in Paris at the Terrass Hotel in Montmartre was a real treat as we stayed there on my 40th birthday trip a couple of years ago. It was closed for refurbishment when we were in the city last year so we were eager to see how it had changed. As well as the reception area being completely rearranged and modernised, the bedrooms have been given a serious revamp. But the most impressive alteration is the restaurant and bar area on the 7th floor. Whereas before it had been just a small outdoor terrace area (albeit with fabulous views) it has since been expanded to include a sleek and modern restaurant overlooking Paris with a prime view of the Eiffel Tower in the distance.
Each of the 92 bedrooms have been decorated in the style of performing artists’ Loge rooms with studio lamps and directors’ chairs. Our room was plenty big enough for the three of us – Isobel’s single bed was by a large window with views of Montmartre cemetery and the Eiffel Tower in the distance. The luxurious extras of the Tassimo machine and L’Occitane toiletries were the perfect finishing touches! If you can’t bear to leave your pooch at home, fear not: the hotel even accommodates small pets for an extra โฌ15 per night – baskets and bowls provided!
The reception area has been completely redesigned and the layout changed. I could have happily sat there reading and drinking coffee but there’s so much to do and see in Paris that I just wanted to get out there exploring!
It was a real treat for Isobel to sit at a bar with a view of the Eiffel Tower and wake up to one!
I love Montmartre, it’s my favourite place to stay in Paris. We’re already planning our next trip to the Terrass Hotel…in fact I’ve been eyeing up the Penthouse…well a girl can dream!

I (luckily!) married a Parisian, so we go back a lot. We’re in the Marais, so I tend to spend a lot of time in that area. My favourite places are Breizh Cafe for crepes, Cafe Miznon for unbelievable Israeli food, and Colette, Merci, and Kabuki for fashion. You can’t beat the view from Montmartre where you were though! xx
Lucky you! Thank you for the tips Lisa, I’ll definitely visit these next time I’m in Paris ๐
I enjoyed perusing these photos immensely! Such a cool place to stay. Thanks for linking up with Fabulous Friday! Hope to see you back next week.

I loved the hotel. Tried to book it too. It is about fully booked until March 2017. Gosh….what a shame.
