Well, Second Hand September is flying by – so much so that I haven’t really been tempted to buy new clothes at all. To be honest, I have been really busy so my mind has been on other things. After a very hectic week of work, I drove to Cambridgeshire on Friday to visit my mum who’s in hospital. I stayed overnight and came back to help Isobel with a fundraiser and go to work on Sunday. But I have this week off so can I catch up on housework, blogging, and maybe even fit some guitar practice in!
Anyway, now the weather is feeling decidedly autumnal I’m starting to wear slightly thicker fabrics and more layers. I’d been stalking this embroidered pussy bow blouse on Vinted for weeks, patiently waiting to see if the seller would reduce the price. My patience paid off and I saved a fiver – well, every little helps! It was hard to tell from the photos exactly what the fabric is like. As I anticipated, it’s quite structured; the embroidery makes it a little on the stiff side, even though the base fabric is sheer. Fortunately, the heavy embroidery means you can’t really see my bra. However, it is a bit itchy, so I think a thin vest would make it more comfortable.
This is my second Sister Jane blouse, and as with my heart print blouse, the details are beautiful. The buttons are so pretty and really add to the opulent feel. I considered pairing the blouse with red trousers but decided on a more classic look with these black ones. A sale purchase a number of years ago, they have proved to be such a good investment. Although I don’t wear black very often, it’s always great to have some classic black trousers for when the occasion calls. I wore them to work last week when we were required to wear black for working on coverage of the Queen’s death. (I should probably have ironed them before these photos!) To pick out the red in the blouse, I chose a red bag and shoes in vegan leather. My classic black sunglasses and peal hoop earrings finished off the look.

That’s a very beautiful blouse. Don’t you just ask for a discount yourself? I do! But I’m thinking that’s perhaps a Dutch thing…..
I love how you stalk your bargains! The blouse is a beaut, the tie is very on-trend x
What a beautiful find Emma. It will look gorgeous with red trousers too and the teal shade within the blouse. I’m not quite ready to pack summer away yet. I’m hoping for a few last days. We seem to have jumped straight into autumn do’nt we xx
I love the details on that blouse!!

Emma, it’s a stunning blouse! Kind of a bummer that it’s itchy though. I hope layering a vest underneath helps make it more comfortable because it really is extraordinary!

That blouse is amazing! I don’t think I’ve see one so heavily embroidered before. And you’ve styled it beautifully. It really does steal the show. And thanks so much for the feature! It was a lovely surprise.
