Happy Monday! The Style Not age collective is back with another fun and on-trend theme. Gail chose the title of “lounging at home” because many of us are at home every day…who knows when this latest lockdown will end? This time last year I was at home a lot – I think I worked one day in the whole of January. This year however, has been my busiest ever, so I’m not actually lounging at home much at all! But as soon as I get home from work I change into my comfy clothes. I like to have that separation between my work and home wardrobe.
Towards the end of last year I was at home most days and realised that I needed to upgrade my working from home outfits – I just don’t feel motivated wearing sloppy old track suit bottoms. Luckily, I spotted these sparkly joggers while I was out doing some last minute Christmas shopping in Asda and immediately added them to my trolley. There were only £14 and are really soft and comfortable, while still looking that little bit extra.
I’ve paired the sparkly joggers with a soft, stretchy star print jumper from Marks & Spencer. I bought it in a charity shop a few years ago for just a few pounds. The silver star pattern continues the sparkly theme and looks much nicer than a plain black top. I’ve kept my jewellery simple with some pearl hoop earrings and a silver and pearl ring.
For me, loungewear that works for outdoors as well as indoors is the most useful. Even if I’m at home all day, I might need to pop out to the shop or post office. I find getting changed just to go out for ten minutes an inconvenience, so having a comfortable outfit that I can wear outside makes life much easier. All I’ve changed is my footwear, replacing my slippers with these embellished sock trainers. They are super stretchy and comfortable, just like like wearing slippers really. As it’s quite cold, I’d layer a coat, bomber jacket or hoodie over this outfit to walk up to the shop, and maybe add a hat too.

I love your sparkly joggers Emma and am pleased to hear that they’re comfy – I find a lot of glittery things can have a touch of itch to them…
Hurrah for another successful challenge done and dusted! Who’s turn next?
