Welcome to the latest instalment of Style Not Age! It’s hard to believe that we’re at the end of July already…Summer is just flying by. This month Hilda set the theme of “My Signature Colour”. It probably comes as no surprise that I chose red! I naturally gravitate towards red, orange, yellow and green when clothes shopping, but red definitely tops that list for me. Red is my go-to colour when I need a confidence boost, particularly a bright pillar box shade of red.
This red mixed print dress is a recent sale purchase from Asos. It has been reduced to a third of the original £75 price tag so it was too good to pass up! I have a dress in a similar style (also from Asos) which I’ve featured on the blog before here and here. Unlike that dress though, this one mixes prints with the same base colour. I love the contrast of animal print on the main section of the dress with the butterfly print on the frills. As this post is all about my signature colour, I indulged myself with embroidered red mules too…I’m an all or nothing person!
I added a neutral bag with a charming bird print to compliment the butterflies on the dress. For my jewellery, I unearthed a red flower ring from a stash of old jewellery. The fun beaded cherry earrings are a recent purchase from Zara. I finished off the look with a sweet heart necklace that Isobel bought me for my birthday.

Hilda has chosen orange for her signature colour. Associated with optimism and warmth, this vibrant hue is one of my favourites too. See all the details at Over the Hilda.
Gail has chosen lilac, complimented by the fabulous hot pink shoes and bag. You can see more over at Is This Mutton.
Anna couldn’t narrow it down to one particular hue so she’s opted for all the colours of the rainbow…I like your style Anna! What a fabulous pre-loved skirt too! Head over to Anna’s Island Style to see all the details.
And finally, Jacqui has also opted for multiple colours: pink and blue. Jacqui is wearing a gorgeous shirt dress that she picked up in the sales. Pop over to Mummabstylish to see the full post.

That is some amazing dress. Love the print mixing in it. Funny that I didn’t guess on forehand what your signature color is, and also not from the other lovely ladies!
signature colors is an interesting styling challenge! i don’t know what i would chose! red is definitely not my color—and I don’t know why…i think it was my mum who never wore it because she said it washed her out…I haven’t posted my latest creation yet, but it’s a RED top!…

You really suit this gorgeous red dress Emma and I can understand why you couldn’t resist those sandals too – all in all it’s a fabulous look xxx
Emma, this dress is magnificent! Red is so amazing on you. And I need those shoes! How brilliant! Green is my favorite color but I think red is my favorite color to wear. Or at least I wear it more often than green. Probably because it is easier to find! Thanks for linking up.
