I’m wearing jeans more now than I have for years. I think after so many years in skinny jeans I just went off denim altogether, Barrel leg jeans have been a revelation, and along with my Marks & Spencer palazzo jeans, have got me hooked on denim again. Often, I wear a casual jeans and T-shirt combination, but it’s easy to dress denim up. A classic blazer instantly elevates a pair of jeans, especially when teamed with loafers and a white shirt.
For a playful look, I’ve opted for a more colourful combination. I bought the jeans and short sleeve jacket in the River Island sale recently – not intending to wear them together. However, I like the contrast of sugary pink and dark denim, mixing feminine with utilitarian. The jeans are a short length (the regular were out of stock) but I don’t think it matters with barrel jeans. The bow top in darker pink keeps the top half tonal and matches the shoes. In cooler temps I’ll wear the jacket over a thin roll neck top. It’s not bulky, so I could easily layer a coat over it in winter.
In anticipation of colder weather, I unpacked some jumpers this week. It’s not cold yet, but it won’t be long before I’ll need thin sweaters and cardigans. We’ve booked flights to go back to Madeira at the end of next month, so I’ll need my summer dresses handy for then. I seem to spend a lot of time packing and unpacking clothes in cases and storage bags! No wonder I can never remember where things are!

YES! Barrel jeans for the win! Your styling of your dark denim version is fabulous. I’m also really getting into this style and I might need to give pink a try next time I wear them. Thanks for the inspiration and the link-up.

I absolutely love that color combination and I plan on incorporating it into my Fall wardrobe. I work from home now and I still try to look decent most days. I shared my Grenada travel post this week. Have a great rest of your week and a lovely weekend!
Love the way you dressed up your new barrel leg jeans in this outfit. The pink cropped jacket looks great with jeans, and all of your cute pink accessories, as well. Enjoy your week and thanks for sharing and hosting the link up.
This is such a beautiful look! I love the contrast between the pink and dark denim! Thank you for the linkup!

I’m so intrigued by what you say about barrel jeans being a revelation. What do you mean? What’s so great about them? I just can’t get over thinking they are not flattering. But what am I missing?
