How are you all doing? I hope you had a lovely Easter! I spent it either working or sleeping 😉 The weather’s been great which made it all the more pleasant when I did get out in the garden. The temptation to slob around in PJs is strong right now, so as we enter the fourth week of lockdown I’m looking for ways to master dressing up in comfort…I promise you it CAN be done!
Stretch fabric is key to comfort for me; I don’t want anything pinching or digging in when I’m sitting for any length of time. That’s what led me to pulling this stretch jumpsuit out of the drawer; it’s a few years old now but I haven’t worn it very much. Seriously, I don’t know why because it’s SO comfortable! I suppose the thought of having to take it off every time I need to go the toilet is a major factor, but it unzips really easily so I’ve got no excuse. This jumpsuit is as comfortable as pyjamas…it’s the perfect working from home outfit!
I previously wore it two ways for a day-to-night transformation. As the weather was cooler then I layered a boiled wool navy biker jacket over it for day and a cropped faux fur jacket for evening. I quite like the idea of a grey faux suede biker jacket with these accessories…but I don’t have one and shopping is off the agenda for now. A long cardigan could work too.
I chose silver wedge trainers because there really is no point in wearing heels around the house, although I do have some white mules with a cone heel that look good with the jumpsuit. In warmer weather I’ll swap the trainers for silver or white flat sandals as the leg length is just right for flats. The grey bag is great for wearing as a crossbody when out shopping (food shopping obviously!).
SHOP THE LOOK
This adorable bee necklace was very kindly sent to me by Reeves & Reeves. They have some absolutely beautiful pieces on the website, including lots of nature-inspired necklaces, bracelets and earrings. I’ll definitely be treating myself to a few more pieces in the future…or directing the husband to the website in time for my birthday! I’ve got my eye on a cute hedgehog or squirrel pendant 😉
Reeves & Reeves is a family-run business based in a converted blacksmith’s forge in the idyllic grounds of Forde Abbey, in West Dorset. The influence of the natural surroundings is evident in the jewellery collections. You can read more about the company here.
Accessories are so important in elevating an outfit, but when you’re at home you don’t want anything too big or dangly. As much as I love my statement pieces I adore my more delicate jewellery equally…especially when it’s inspired by nature 🙂
