Hello, I hope you’re all doing well! I had a relaxing weekend doing not very much! Yesterday I had a hospital appointment with an orthapaedic surgeon about my bunions; it seems surgery is inevitable if I want to be rid of the pain. It may not be until next year due to Covid, but it’s good to get the ball rolling. I’m not looking forward to being out of action for weeks, but I’m hoping it will enable me to continue running in the long term (and wear heels!).
In the meantime, funky trainers and these gorgeous Calla sandals will keep my feet happy. Calla shoes are made for ladies with bunions and are incredibly comfortable. The grey ruffles on these sandals really compliment this satin sleeve top. I love statement sleeves, particularly with big organza puff sleeves, but they often feel scratchy. This top achieves the same effect without the discomfort. I got the idea of pairing soft grey and mint green together from one of my favourite shirt dresses (seen here). I usually veer towards combining grey with pink, but I wanted to try something different this time.
Until recently I was being quite restrained about buying new clothes but I’ve had a bit of a blow out this last week. As well as a couple of investment purchases (jacket and shirt) I’ve bought a few new tops that I can wear to work. I also ordered this top in blush pink, but bizarrely the fabric is slightly different and the fit is smaller. I’ll probably still keep it though.
I toyed with the idea of choosing either a dark grey or dark green bag for a two-colour tonal palette. But as you probably know by now, I often like to add a third accent colour to my outfits. I’ve always loved purple and green together, so I pulled out this oversized Ri2k bag and matching Ted Baker purple sunglasses. I added some darker green with my jewellery for contrast.
In other news, I’m finally getting started with my YouTube channel. Isobel has been behind the camera and we’re both learning to edit. Hopefully I’ll be able to upload my first vlog very soon!
