The spell of glorious weather we’ve been enjoying is set to come to an end tomorrow, so I’ll be back to outfits like this one. Although I do love warm, sunny weather, it kills my motivation to workout because I just can’t exercise in the heat. I’ll still be wearing Summery colours though, even if I have to add an extra layer!
Lilac and golden yellow is one of my favourite colour combinations at the moment – it reminds me of irises. Nature is a wonderful source of colour inspiration. I’ve also worn these colours in Winter (see the post here) so they can work all year round.
I bought the jacket on eBay a few years ago, but when it arrived I was disappointed to find the lining in shreds. When I contacted the seller she said she hadn’t realised and gave me a refund, telling me to give it to charity. However, my mum did a decent repair job on it so I kept it. It’s a bit on the snug side, so I have to be very careful when reaching or stretching…I’ve heard a few stitches go!
The yellow jumper is a new purchase from Karen Millen – the sale was just too good to resist! I also bought a fabulous orange jumper which I’ll be featuring soon. After I last wore these lilac trousers I intended on getting them taken up a couple of inches. Having trousers that I can only wear with heels doesn’t give me much flexibility. However, I don’t have the sewing skills and finding someone else to do it isn’t easy under the current circumstances. So for now, I’ll have to stick to footwear with a heel or platform.
My hat is also a new-ish addition to my collection. I’ve recently discovered the online treasure trove that is Anthropologie, but it’s been a revelation! I’d always thought they only shipped to the U.S. The great thing is that shipping is free on orders over ÂŁ50, and they often have extra discount codes on sale items. I think this lilac fedora cost around ÂŁ30!
My yellow boots (slightly hidden by the long trousers) and bag match the sweater perfectly. I’ve added my amethyst Ottoman Hands disc earrings and Yaa Yaa London ring – this company sells the most amazing jewellery, and it’s reasonably priced too.
