Outfits with me wearing jeans are like buses – none for ages then two in quick succession! Monday’s Style Not Age post prompted me to go through my stash of denim and try a few pairs on. I realised that I’d never actually worn these before. I wanted to pair this frilly blouse with jeans for more of an edgy street style look, rather than trying to dress it up. It’s enough of a statement in its own right without trying to add to it.
Like the strawberry cardigan in last week’s post, this blouse popped up in the “recommended for you” feed on Vinted. That algorithm knows me well by now! There was no way I could resist something so unusual. The playful mix of stripes and frills on this blouse is both charming and quirky. I’m a big fan of sheer sleeves because the ventilation is especially welcome during those perimenopausal hot flushes! As you’ll see further down the post, the pearl buttons have the cutest (albeit rather grumpy) cat faces on them. It’s little details like this that really delight me!
I chose this pink feathery bag to mimic the sheer frills on the blouse. It’s years old, and was second hand when I bought it. I have some very pretty pink embellished slingback shoes (featured in this post) that would look fabulous with this blouse, but these Converse are so comfortable and much more practical. I’d love them in multiple colours!
I was hoping to have this post finished last night, but I got back from Birmingham late and was too exhausted to look at a screen. This week is a busy one workwise. I’m taking mum back to her house at the weekend for what will almost certainly be the last time as we’re expecting a completion date soon. It’ll be weird and probably a bit sad too. There’s lots to pack up and a lot of stuff to get rid of. I’m looking forward to a week off next week to hopefully relax and process it all. Onwards and upwards!

You always have the best details on! Love the ruffles and I totally did those pink and roses Converse sneakers. I love that they are a high top, and look so fun to wear.
Have a great week. I am sick, otherwise I would link up.. Didn’t have posts this week.

I love your playful blouse. It is unique and the design and colours are just wonderful. Jeans are such a classic and I have loved them for years. They are versatile and timeless. Oh wow Emma, I love your blouse. It is so beautiful and so me too.
Thanks so much for hosting and such a lovely suprise to be one of your features. Thanks again xx
What a beautiful blouse, perfect with the jeans and converse. Hope all goes smoothly for your mum, which will be an emotional time. I often wonder what it’ll be like emptying our family home and moving on.
Alison
This is such a fabulous look! Your blouse is gorgeous! Thank you so much for the feature!

Those pink tenny’s are just fabulous!! Love them!!
Thank you for hosting, my line is #8. When my kids graduated high school, I had the empty nest syndrome horribly. I worked at my day job 40 hours a week, and started my photography business. This side job was 40 hours a week as well. I needed this. During my peak, I had provided these pallets like my #8 post linkup. I have decided to add them to my Gma’sPhoto blog.
The pallets displays ideas for family/group images.
Have a wonderful week!
Take care and best wishes.
Now, this has to be the quintessential Emma blouse! It’s funky, pink, and has ruffles! I love it paired with those jeans (you look amazing in them), too! I hope all goes well with your mom’s move. Thanks so much for the link up!

You sure have a great bum in jeans! Is that allowed to say?? Don’t blame me, I’m Dutch….
Anyway… just yesterday I was writing a blog post saying that I know just a few bloggers that never wear jeans, and had you mind! You must have heard me. What a cool blouse! I love sheer sleeves too!
Haha…thank you Nancy! I love how Dutch people say what they think!
Thank you for the feature, Emma. Your blouse looks amazing, I have never seen anything like it. All the pieces look great together in this look.
Thanks Anna! You’re welcome!
Oh wow. You look stunning. I love the trousers especially with the frayed effect and that blouse is stunning. Thanks for the linkup. Jacqui x
Thanks Jacqui!
The top is a fantastic concoction and I love it with the jeans and sneakers xx
Thanks Gail!
Emma, I LOVE everything about this outfit!!! The top is stunning, so unique and with the cutest buttons EVER lol. I fell out of love with my Converse so I ended up giving all my pairs away—I couldn’t stand how uncomfortable they are! Those ones, however, look like they have more support. Might have to revisit them!
Hugs

Thank you Suzy! I have a pair of Converse from years ago that I’ve never worn – I gave them to my mum and she gave them back to me recently. They don’t have much support and make me look even more flat-footed than I already am! These chunky ones are really comfortable though, very springy!
I love the blouse and how you styled it.
