I made a flying visit back up North at the weekend to touch base with the family and squeeze in a shift at work. I’m now back in Peterborough, staying with my mum again. She’s finding it hard to get around after another long stay in hospital. My brother and I are taking it in turns to look after her. Thankfully after tonight the temperature at night will stay above freezing – having no central heating and sleeping under a drafty window makes sleeping difficult. Hopefully she will soon be moving in with us though.
Since these gorgeous boots from Vivaia arrived I’ve been so impatient to wear them. I took the opportunity of wearing them to work on Sunday because Pete was also working on the same programme as me. Not only did we get to car share but I also got him to take some photos for me. These boots are so comfortable, even with my bunions and flat feet! I’ve had many pairs of long black boots over the years but they always seem to crumple and sag. Not these though! The stretch shaft ensures they stay in place while the terry lining keeps my feet and legs warm. Plus, they are water repellent and anti-stain.
Thanks to the snug fit on the leg, I can wear these boots under trousers or over jeans or leggings as I’ve done here. Faux leather and leopard print is one of my favourite combinations for winter. These Mint Velvet leggings are really comfortable and much cheaper than Spanx (only £32 at John Lewis). I’ve managed to squeeze five different leopard prints into this outfit: the blouse, scarf, hat, bag and collar on my coat. I bought this coat on eBay a couple of years ago and don’t think I’ve worn it before. A couple of weeks ago a colleague was wearing one just like it, which gave me the idea to give mine an outing.
Vivaia have a wide range of boots in various styles and colours. These are the Rebecca. I love the unusual shape of the heel, which provides fantastic stability and support. The anti-slip rubber outsole has certainly proved useful during this cold, frosty weather!
Not only is Vivaia footwear extremely comfortable, but it is also kind to the environment.
I’m absolutely delighted with my new boots – and I also have some fabulous shoes from Vivaia too, which I’ll show you in another post. If you fancy treating yourself to some new shoes or boots you can get 10% off using the code VIVAIA11.

Great look with the boots and leggings. Lovely bright colours.
Very cool look, those boots are fabulous. How good it is that your mother can live with you. Will she be in your home or a annex? It will be a huge change for her, and for your family of course, as she lives in a different county doesn’t she?
Love those boots!

I am so glad to hear your mom is home. She had such a long go of it.
I love this fun, leopard-y outfit! And leopard looks wonderful with orange. I need more orange in my closet, but it’s not the easiest color to find at the moment. Fabulous outfit, Emma!
