Happy Monday! I hope you had a lovely weekend. The Thrifty Six are back, and today we are wearing the zodiac! I used to read my horoscope every day but now I don’t pay so much attention to astrology. I’m a Cancerian, although I’m on the cusp of Leo. Looking at the characteristics attributed to each sign I would say I am a typical Cancerian. Those born under the sign of the crab are said to be home-loving, protective, empathetic and intuitive. I can usually get a good picture of someone from a first meeting – my instincts have often proved to be correct. True to type, I do love being at home too, especially cuddled up with Henry, my cat 🙂
Bizarrely for a water sign, I’m not a very good swimmer and hate being out of my depth. In theory I should be a good swimmer with broad shoulders and big hands and feet! I certainly enjoy being around water though – preferably on a beach in the Caribbean! As Cancerians are said to be sentimental and often look to the past, I chose this blue vintage Western style blouse to represent water. Cancer’s ruling planet is the moon (ok, technically not a planet) which made me think of these silver trousers. I’ve added silver sandals and jewellery too – I think the cocktail ring looks like a full moon!
Although not preloved, I had to include this bag, which was a gift from my dad. It’s from the zodiac range at Parfois and has Cancer on one side and Aries on the other. I previously featured it on the blog last November. It’s the ideal size for work or travelling and has sturdy straps. It also has a longer detachable shoulder strap. It’s such a fun print – and the character on the bag even has the same hair colour as me. My bracelet matches the bag AND it’s made from recycled coffee pods…you don’t get thriftier than that!
Fun facts: Famous female Cancerians include Princess Diana, Meryl Streep, Ariana Grande, Margot Robbie, Priyanka Chopra, Selena Gomez, Lana Del Rey, Malala Yousafzai, Solange Knowles, Sandra Oh, Missy Elliott, Saweetie, Pamela Anderson and Cyndi Lauper.

“I am Gemini through and through. The celestial twins are both integral parts of my airy personality. The yin and the yang work in perfect harmony as I float through life with my head in the clouds. Geminis are often considered social butterflies, so I restyled my butterfly wrap made from thrifted scarves. The contrasting colors represent the duality of my sign and vibrant colors are always a favorite of playful and curious Geminis. There are many more Gemini-inspired details in this outfit including my ‘twin fly’ brooches but you will have to visit my post to see it all!”
“I’m a Sagittarius, which is half man, half horse (thus the cowboy boots). When I googled it, I read that we are “playful, fun, and competitive”. The funny part was it said you’d never be able to guess what a Sag outfit would look like. And that’s me to a tee. Unpredictable and colorful. My shorts were originally thrifted as suede pants until I shortened them (see that article here). Everything except the hat is thrifted. I giggled because after I purchased the top, I was reading the label and it’s sleepwear. But you’d never know, and that’s my kind of versatility in a wardrobe.”
“Twinkle, twinkle little star…
…how I wonder what star sign you are?
This month’s T6 theme is all about star signs…
…there’s only one star sign for me and that’s the sign of a star!
Stars are cute and fun to style, this little rara skirt is a bit of fun too…”
“I don’t really pay any mind to astrology, but putting together an outfit inspired by my star sign was such a fun challenge! I’m a Scorpio – bold, creative, determined, and mysterious. I can’t say I’m very mysterious (I’m about as open a book as they come) but I like to think this outfit has a little allure to it. The original ensemble I put together with this thrifted bodycon dress was too wintery, so I decided on an edgy date night look instead. For some reason Zodiac signs make me think of geometric prints, and black is one of Scorpio’s go-to colors! I topped the outfit off with my beaded shooting star clutch and a deep red lipstick for a hint of bold.”
“My zodiac sign is achievement-oriented, perfectionist and tidy. But also so focused on achieving goals that this sign can also have an overly critical attitude. And is easily tense and anxious. My zodiac sign is honest, loyal and reliable. And good at cheering up other people. And? Did you guess? My zodiac sign is Virgo! And how do I adjust my outfit to my zodiac sign? Virgo doesn’t like too much hassle. Not even in their outfit. It should look simple, coordinated and elegant. A few beautiful pieces of jewelry are more than enough. The Virgo does not need much, she radiates from within! And see here! This is me! Simple, matchy matchy and elegant. Pre loved top from Cos via Vinted, Zara skirt and Adidas sneakers.”

Emma, this outfit is so pretty! I love the way you interpreted Cancer and the Moon into this gorgeous outfit! Your blouse is amazing and your bag and bracelet are so perfect, too. Well done, my friend!

You surround yourself by very inspiring fellow cancerians! And what a perfect interpretation! Especially the trousers for the moon. And such a fabulous bracelet!
Emma, I love you in this blue top! It just makes everything pop! And, those sunglasses are absolutely glorious! I have never seen anything made from coffee pods before, but that’s a great idea! Love your bag, too!
