How’s your week going? The weather here is lovely, sunny and warm. We can’t have the windows open yet though because I’m not letting the kittens go out until they’re a bit older. They’re fully vaccinated but I’m worried about them running off…they are so curious about everything! They are five months old now and we’ve had them for about two and a half months. I can see their individual personalities already, and even though it’s difficult to tell them apart, I usually know which one is which by behaviour. They were watching us from the window sill, as you can see from the last photo – they miss nothing!
Although I’m usually dressed in bright colours, I do love a monochrome outfit. This black and white midi dress is new from Izabel. A couple of weeks ago I featured a navy and white dress in the same pattern which I loved. This dress is a different style but equally fabulous. As well as fitting like a dream AND having pockets, they are surprisingly crease resistant. I love that I can step into this dress rather than putting it on over my head. I’m already thinking ahead to my holiday and those times when I get dressed after putting on makeup; how many times have you accidentally got makeup on a top or dress…or is it just me? Factor in hot weather and being a bit sweaty (I’m painting a very glamourous picture aren’t I?) and you can see where I’m going.
One way of making a statement with monochrome outfits is to add different patterns and textures. Here I’ve included a smidge of spots and stripes with the headband and bangle. Anything too big would look incongruous with the pattern of the dress, but just small accents add interest. The beads and pearls help to elevate the look too.
Actually, I have to confess that the headband was due to a bad hair day! I really need a haircut, I’m so bored with this style, if you can call it that! I do like being able to tie it back when I’m exercising but I’m also thinking about more layers. Unfortunately I can’t go to my usual hairdresser now that mum has moved. My next door neighbour cut it last time but now she has moved! I need to find somewhere soon because we all know how a bad hair day can make you feel!

It’s kind of weird seeing you in black and white, because you’re usually so colourful!! But I do love it, it’s a gorgeous dress. I’m shocked though, that you’re able to wear sandals and short sleeves at the moment! It’s been peeing down with rain for weeks on end here in the Algarve (although we did get a short reprieve at the weekend) and it’s cold to. I’m still wearing thermal socks and jumpers lol!
Love the kittens! How cute!!

Your tuxedo kitties are adorable, and matching your outfit in black and white, too! By coincidence I am wearing black and white this week also. Love this dress on you. The neckline and puff sleeves are so sweet. And the dress would be an easy, perfect choice for a fun holiday. I would love for manufacturers to start putting zippers and back or side buttons back in more garments. I agree, pulling things over your head is a nuisance! Thanks for hosting the link up and enjoy your weekend!
You must have quite the summer trip planned, with so many great vacation dresses lately! Thanks so much for the feature, as always!

This dress is perfect for a warm weather vacation! I 100% agree that dresses you can step into are wonderful, particularly in hot weather. No makeup smudges is always a win. =)
I hope you are having a great week so far!

Those kittens…so adorable! You, though, are absolutely stunning in this black and white dress! I love the addition of the headband and bangle to bring in some subtle prints. I know what you mean about hair…I’m getting a haircut tomorrow, and I would love a new style. But, my hair really is so thin and straight that it just does a couple of things. Anyway, thanks so much for the link up! Hope you’ll join us for the Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot!

What a very pretty dress! Would love to wear it! I think layers would look great on you. It’s difficult to find a good hairdresser but worth it.
This is a fab dress and it suits you so much especially with the espadrille sandals. Jacqui. Xx
