The temperatures have really taken a dip this last week. Even though the ground wasn’t frosty today it still felt bitterly cold, so perhaps this wasn’t the most practical choice of outfit. But I was craving bright colours, and so that took precedence over keeping warm. Had I have been wearing this to work I would have switched the biker jacket for a coat or thick bomber jacket. Of course, I could layer an oversized coat over this jacket to stay really toasty.
One item of clothing that I wear all through autumn, winter and early spring is a roll neck top. They are great for layering under a gilet or a thicker jumper. I have lots of them in different colours and patterns. Recently, I added a couple of new ones to my collection, taking advantage of the sale at Warehouse. (I’ve since found it slightly cheaper here). I chose a colour palette of blue and green with white accessories to pick up on the geometric print of the top.
I bought these trousers in the Marks & Spencer outlet for £7 – a terrific bargain as they are really good quality. A lot of my trousers are too thin for the winter, but these are ideal. They were only available in a short length, but that works well with chunky square toe boots for a retro-inspired look. I also bought the trousers in a duck egg blue, standard length for £9. I’ve found some brilliant bargains in the M&S outlet, including these brown check trousers for £6 and this wrap skirt for £7. My jacket was also a sale bargain – from Stradivarius in Madeira earlier this year. For only 15 euros I couldn’t resist it!
I’m slowly recovering from Covid/flu. The double whammy certainly sapped my energy and the brain fog is making me very forgetful (although that could be menopause too). I’ve done a fair bit of Christmas shopping online but haven’t done any wrapping yet. I’ve bought a Wicked Kitchen No Turkey Roast Crown for Christmas lunch; in previous years I’ve tried the M&S version and Tofurky, but this is a first for me. I just need to nail the vegan Yorkshire puddings now! For dessert I usually make a vegan sticky toffee pudding, which is delicious. Everyone prefers it to Christmas pudding. Mum is still in hospital but we’re keeping everything crossed that she will be out in time for Christmas. I think she’s ready for some decent food!

I love the idea of a vegan sticky toffee pudding. I must google it! We still haven’t decided what we’re going to cook for Christmas lunch, but it will probably be some kind of nut roast, and perhaps a mushroom pie with flaky pastry. Michael usually does the main and I do the dessert.
I love your outfit, the colours are gorgeous together. I’d be freezing in that jacket though. I always loved wearing polo necks but lately I struggle with them because of my hot flushes! Bloody peri-menopause!!!
Big hugs
