Welcome to September’s Stylish Monday link up! This month we’re asking Is Olive the New Black? Well it’s certainly a very versatile colour, much more than you might think. When I bought this faux suede biker jacket I was surprised by how many people said they preferred it to a black one. It’s a great transitional piece because it’s not too bullky or heavy, but it keeps the Autumn chills at bay. I’ve worn it lots for work in place of a tailored jacket, and I think it still looks smart. Of course, it’s also great for pairing with jeans for a more casual look.
I’m a big fan of greens of all shades, but particularly emerald and olive (or khaki). Green is said to be a balancing colour, plus it suits redheads (natural or otherwise!). I’ve worn this jacket before on the blog with grey cropped trousers and a red top, but here I’ve opted for a more neutral palette, albeit with a few dashes of red. The trousers were a fantastic bargain – only £6 from the M&S outlet near to where I work. They’re really good quality and I love the high waist style. The red and cream bag adds some light to the otherwise muted colourway and ties in with the cream sandals.

Isobel wanted to show her green jacket too…I think I’ve got serious competition from my mini fashionista!

Aw, great minds think alike! And love green! My post today is all about green, particularly olive green as well. And I shared an olive green coat for fall. I absolutely love your outfit here. The plaid trousers paired with the edgy moto jacket is so perfect. And how cute is Isobel?! You really do have some competition! But she learned her style from watching her super stylish momma. Well done!

Hello Emma, thanks for your comment on my blog. I’m a big fan of all kinds of green myself, although I usually opt for a brighter shade. Your outfit is gorgeous, and I love the little dashes of red which lift it to a higher level. Not to mention the lovely shade of your hair! xxx
I love that jacket so much! I also love olive green…that’s actually the color I’m wearing in today’s post!

I prefer olive over black. I’m not a redhead, but black is too harsh for me. I love all of the other ladies you’ve shown in their olive colors…
