Colour Me Beautiful – September’s Style Not Age

Colour Me Beautiful - September's Style Not Age,

Anna chose the theme of “Colour Me Beautiful” for September’s Style Not Age challenge. Me and Anna share very similar tastes in clothes – something we talked about when we met up a couple of weeks ago. We both have the pea pod print suit from the H&M x Iris Apfel collection. This green suit was from an H&M Studio collection in 2020 and is very similar to the pea pod suit in terms of fabric and style. I’d seen it on Pinterest but had given up hope of ever finding it on a resale site.

I wasn’t actively looking for this suit because I’d never been able to find it before, let alone in my size

It presumably popped up on my Pinterest feed due to my Gucci obsession as it’s very similar to a suit from the 2016 collection. On the runway it was worn with a blue shirt and wide pink tie with a ladybird motif. I fully intend on recreating that look in the near future! I wasn’t actively looking for this suit because I’d never been able to find it before, let alone in my size. So when I saw it on Vinted in a size 10, last week – new with tags – I knew I had to seize the opportunity. To my relief, it fits perfectly. (If your budget can stretch to the Gucci version, I’ve found one on Vestiaire for £2,415!)

I’ve teamed it with a blouse from the H&M x Iris Apfel collection (yes, I’m obsessed with that too!). I have the matching skirt which I featured a couple of years ago. The gold loafers are cheap and cheerful, not terribly comfortable, but I like the style. Maybe one day I’ll get the Gucci version, but finding them in a size 8 is virtually impossible. Then again, I thought that about this suit!

Let’s see how my blogger friends styled their “Colour Me Beautiful” looks…

Anna has teamed a pretty puff sleeve top from Vinted with a dreamy tulle skirt. Head over to Anna’s Island Style to read more.

Jacqui has chosen vibrant red trousers from F & F via Vinted paired with a Shein crochet jacket. Catch up with Jacqui over at Mummabstylish.

Hilda is wearing what was originally a Zara dress and is now a top and skirt. What a great transformation! You can see more of this outfit at Over the Hilda.

Which colours make you feel beautiful? Do you have favourite shade that you gravitate towards?

Just when I thought the suit was amazing, you take off the jacket and reveal the top! Wow!!! They are both just stunning! You are definitely persistent and know how to use those resale sites! Have you done something different with your hairstyle? If so, I love it. If not, I still love it!
