Happy Monday! The sun is shining here and it’s lovely and warm…my legs are finally seeing the light of day! All very timely as Jacqui chose the theme of Dreamy Dresses for June’s Style Not Age challenge. I have lots of dresses, which I mostly wear on holiday. I’m counting down the days to our trip to Madeira next month as it will be a year since our previous holiday. While I try to be sustainable and not buy a load of new clothes for each trip, I do like to refresh my holiday wardrobe with a few new pieces. Otherwise, all my holiday photos will look the same as we go to Madeira regularly!
While I was working in Birmingham last week I went out on my lunch break, and as usual, the call of TK Maxx was too strong to resist! It’s so close to the train station and just a five minute walk from work. The print of this dress immediately caught my eye and I picked it up, put it down, walked around for a bit, before deciding to buy it. Obviously I didn’t need another dress…but it’s so pretty! Plus, I could tell straight away that it’s crease-resistant. My only complaint is that it gapes just below the bust so I had to pin it. I think maybe a better bra might help too.
In addition to the charming print, I was sold on the collar and frill sleeves. I wasn’t sure whether to tie it at the back or front, but eventually decided it looks better at the front. It’s difficult to tell from the photos, but there’s orange and green in the print surrounding the little red flowers. This is what steered me towards the green bag and ring; they’re both well-used items in my accessories arsenal.
I’ve bought a few other items for my holiday but those are all from Vinted and charity shops. I’m waiting for a couple of dreamy dresses and a blingy blouse to arrive, so if they fit they may be going in the case too. I’m thinking of treating myself to a new suitcase (orange of course!) and some packing cubes. I’ve heard good things about them and I need all the help I can get with being organised. If I get them I’ll report back on how useful the are.

Haha, because we always go to Rye, I had the same on photos. Always wearing the same, years after each other, lol. So this year I took me clothes with me! I had to Zoom in on that dress to take a look at the print and it’s gorgeous! And I love that collar! You wear that very well, love this dress!
Fabulous dress! I must check out TK Maxx again. I get too overwhelmed usually to spend enough time browsing x
