I think we brought the weather back with us from Turkey! Coming home to glorious sunshine certainly eases the post-holiday blues. It’s also nice to not have to pack the Summer clothes away, especially this Fabienne Chapot lobster print dress. I’ve been waiting months to wear it. I bought it from Secret Sales along with the pink and blue hats.
My introduction to the Fabienne Chapot line came about when I modelled for the-Bias-Cut.com last September. I fell in love with the beautiful and quirky prints (the newly launched Peachy print has my name all over it…literally!). In addition to the two hats I couldn’t resist buying this cold shoulder dress, even though it was mid Winter. Lobster prints and motifs were big last Summer, and I knew there was a risk that by the time I got to wear it, it might not be exactly “on trend”. But I bought it because I love it; I don’t care if it’s not this season’s print. I know I’ll be wearing this dress for many years to come.
Continuing with the crustacean theme, I added my Topshop crab motif straw bag. I bought it last Summer just before it sold out. The bag was obviously very popular because I had someone DM me on Instagram offering to buy it! But I don’t want to part with it, especially as the crab is my zodiac sign.
A straw bag is the perfect accessory to pair with a Summer dress, and as it’s a neutral it goes with everything. I chose my accessories carefully with this in mind, as given the opportunity I’d overpack every single time. Last year I invested in a new luggage set, which looks much more stylish than the previous ragtag mix of cases. On the downside though, I can’t fit as much in. This has been the push I needed to pack more sensibly and selectively. I still need to learn how to refine my selection of jewellery though…I took way too many pairs of earrings! Old habits die hard 😉

This lobster dress is so adorable! The cut is very flattering with the whimsy of lobsters! I would even like a top with this fabric.
Thanks Kim! There is also a shirt in the same print which I’ve found at http://www.nohiddenfee.co.uk – I’m seriously tempted to buy it!
Such a fun print – sorry if this comes out in caps, caps not selected but it’s showing caps on the screen.
I love the bag too – crustaceans rule.
looking forward to seeing emma peach in a peach print!
Thanks Gail! I know what you mean about the caps – it’s the same for me. I need to have a look at the settings. I haven’t had time to fiddle with it since I installed it in a rush before I went on holiday.I wish I was better with all this techy stuff!
