There’s nothing more sartorially festive than a bright red coat (I’m ignoring the Christmas jumper trend on the grounds it’ll be distinctly naff by mid January) and so what better occasion to wear it than a trip to town for some Christmas shopping? I’m having to restrain myself quite a lot when it comes to clothes shopping to allow for some sale splurges after Christmas.
The sales are the perfect opportunity to pick up a good quality winter coat; I bought this festive bright red coat (reduced to half price) from the J by Jasper Conran range at Debenhams in the Spring and have been saving it for the colder weather. It looks and feels much more expensive than it was, with a good quality lining and attention to details at the waist and cuffs. I’m sure I’ll be getting a lot of wear out it over the coming months.
The leather bag is by Temperley London – another January sale purchase from a couple of years ago. I love the circle details, they really stand out against the red. It reminds me of that part of a sight test when you have to look at the black circles on the red and green backgrounds!
