Although it’s still November it’s starting to feel very Christmassy already. We had snow yesterday which settled and made everywhere look very pretty. So it’s quite timely that me and my Style Not Age friends are breaking out the festive finery! Gail chose this month’s theme, and I immediately thought of sequins, glitter, velvet and anything sparkly. It seems the older I get the more I’m drawn to sparkles and bright colour. Beige is certainly not for me!
It just so happened that I’d bought this gold sequin jacket on eBay a week or so before Gail set the theme of festive finery. I’d been eager to wear it, so the timing was perfect. Sequins and velvet are a failsafe festive combination, plus the gold really stands out against the matte black. My gold boots are actually long slouchy boots but they’re not bulky, so I could wear them under the trousers. I wanted these Zara boots for ages – they sold out really quickly in my size. Eventually, I found them on eBay for a reasonable price, even with the cost of postage from Portugal.
I chose a plain black top underneath so that I could wear this fabulous jewelled bib necklace – I think I paid £4 for it in a sale! But I didn’t stop there with the bling; I added statement earrings, a cocktail ring and a pearl-embellished headband. Oh, and I couldn’t resist a few photos with my Meghan Fabulous sunglasses. More is more and less is a bore, as Iris would say! Well it is nearly Christmas!

Gail shopped her wardrobe for this fabulous outfit. The lilac leopard skirt, lemon marabou jumper and purple boots create a lighter colour palette than a traditional festive outfit. Head over to Is This Mutton? for all the details.
Jacqui also chose an outfit made up from items she already owned. The black velour dress and red coat certainly create a festive look. See more of Jacqui’s outfit at Mummabstylish.
Anna has paired the most amazing sequin top and velvet trousers, which she bought from a charity shop and customised by shortening and adding the flower trim. I love them! Read more about Anna’s outfit over at Anna’s Island Style.
Hilda is wearing a gorgeous green velvet jacket from a local boutique and boots which were a present from her daughter. Swing by Over the Hilda for all the details.
